Hi Wendilynn
This will depend on what country you are from and where the car is from also as in the USA the blinker lights are running lights that stay on i do not think you can get red covers for them as then you will have red blinkers and they should be orange, the only way i can think of a work around is, disconnect the wires for the blinkers ( do not know if yours are red or not you did not say ) and swap the wires with the proper blinkers, if however the orange blinker lights that are staying on are your proper blinkers then you should have a permanent live wire going to them, you will have to remove this permanent live wire from them and if they do not have a live feed have an auto electrician fit some wires from the flasher unit to them and that should solve the problem hope you understand what i mean
Where is the TDC notch on the crankshaft pulley?
if you have a series of notches on the pulley then the middle notch of them all is TDC. Point of fact is that the notches represent BTDC ( before TDC ---advanced) and AFTDC ( after TDC-- late firing past TDC). If the engine is starting and running ok then it is not at 30 degrees BTDC or it would not start easily. Each notch probably represents 5 degrees
Turn key and does not even click to try starting.
Try starting it in "NEUTRAL" instead of "PARK".
If it starts, then you know it's the "neutral safety switch".
BUT..........
If it DOESN'T start, it might STILL be that switch, or the ignition switch.
Any advice for removing a waterpump that seems to be locked in?
i posted the answer on one of your triple posts.
buck up one, and read.
try posting how far into the the proceedure. you got.
eg: offed all the stuff to get pump pulley removed.
then we removed all screws in pump base.
then forgot to smack the pulley base hub with rubber mallet.
unsticking the old gasket. (all do that)
Rebuilt engine with timing problems
You have it right, the yellow mark is TDC and it's the notch furthest to the left...it e to be set at 15 degrees before TDC, but you have to disconnect the I.A.C sensor to do it.if it's still that far out, you're probably of by a tooth.bring #1 piston to TDC, pull out distributor, turn rotor to #1 on dist cap and put in dist..adjust accordingly. .
