2006 Suzuki Swift Questions & Answers
2006 suzuki swift immobiliser light flashing and car not starting what can i do to fix it?
You may have a bad key chip, try a diffrent key in the ignition, also make sure you do not have magnet strip mini swipe cards on key chain near the ignition. this sounds like the immoboilizer system is active. this system will not allow the coils to spark. The key would be the first thing to check. do this by using another key.if car still will not start then the key reader may be bad, this is located around the ignition . the last problem could be the module or a broken wire. The best way to check this would be with a scan tool. there will be codes stored in the anti or body module. the codes will tell you where the failure is and with some testing the problem can be found. the scan tool can help by reading the values and readings. it can tell you if the key chip is read and if the module accepts it. i think if the spare key does not start the car then it will be cheaper to have a shop diagnose the problem. this will help you from just putting parts in. also this anti theft system needs programing when certain parts are replaced.hope this is helpful, good day
Need to know how hard it is to change a alternator

or
- First, you MUST disconnect the negative cable from the battery terminal, otherwise it is highly likely you will shock your self. Next you need to locate the alternator on your Swift (mine, a 1995, was on the top left, down below the carbuerator).
- Disconnect the electrical wires going to the alternator (mine were right next to each other on the inner side, towards the engine, although I have seen them one on top and one on the side). These wires should be recognizable, as one is a plug, normally green in color that should come from the positive battery wire, and the other is the negative which should have a rubber cap over it. Take off the cap and unscrew the holding bolt, which should loosen the wire.
- Once that's done, you need to remove all the bolts holding the alternator to the frame. There should really only be two, the adjustment bolt on the top (used to adjust the tension in the alternator belt) and one on the bottom (you'll have to raise the car to get this one) its either a bolt on oneside (rare) or a bolt that goes all the way through with nuts on both ends (more common). You're view may be obscured by a shielding piece that keeps rocks and other things you run over from flying into or through your alternator. You can easily remove the two screws in the bottom and one at the top to remove the piece. I highly recommend this because models upto 1998 require this for removal.
- Once all that is removed your alternator should be free to move, except for the belt, but slipping that off is pretty self intuitive. Getting it out now is another issue entirely. I've been wrestling with mine for two and a half hours now and am pretty sure I'm going to have to take it out through the top. This step I leave up to you, the only advice I can offer is that the Hayne's guide I have says 1998 and later goes through the bottom.
- One other thing that should be noted is that some alternator models (the harder ones to get I assume, since mine was the more common type and this wasn't an issue) don't come with the flywheel attached. For the non-engineers or mechanics out there, that's the big wheel on the side that the belt rotates to generate electricity. Make sure that if your replacement doesn't have this wheel to remove it, as you will assuredly be needing it.
- To install simply repeat all the previous steps in reverse.
Have a 2006 Suzuki Swift
You should go to
www.reliable-store.com they have got books on every vehicle and also how to service/repair it, parts info, fuse box, gear box, torque specs, coiling, wiring diagrams, electrical diagrams, fuse diagrams, error codes, etc everything
Which internal fuse is for the drivers door window??
The Windows should be on breaker fuses these will be the little rectangular metal fuse looking things in the fuse block in the dash, however these are designed to last a very long time usually the switch will burn out many times before the breaker fuse
Why does it squeal when cold?
anne, are you a mechanic or asking for hubbYare you hands on person, willing to learn?i be not. so why ask at all.?why not do what 99% do , get it serviced.you think blind guessing fixes cars?well you tell is then, its 1 in 100 shot.how told you that a real ASE mech,no ,he'd have corrected it now. and you'd not be here. right.so its RUMOR< Mr/ RUMOR told me belt is oki say 50% bunk.,that.belts in fact get hard with age and make noise.for sure cold , its harder.this is not a guess. its a list of common failures.1; bad belt, gee its cheap fix if i guess right.2: not tensioned correctly or the tension or is bad.3: the pump/alt ,p/s, or a/c compr. bearing are bad.4: bent accessory brakes, or broke causing belt disaligment and squeeels.5: wrong belt. (too long as many stores sell)6: a belt from fleabay china for $3, a POS.7: defective pulleys. bent or cracked (any )idlers.guess what, we cant just guess , takes lookingand finding and testing....and am not doing 101 on that.

most cars i canada, do not glow the CEL for many errors
FSM book facts.
and so if it does glow that means its real bad.
any scant tool works after 1998 in canada.
so you need to Scan IT .
MY GUESS, IS YOU HAVE:
Misfire.
p03xx code.
but what code, you actually have, is key to solving this riddle.
in fact this is the main purpose of OBD2 systems.
to fix car faster, thus less smog and less wasted fuel.
Brake pedal soft first part of movement,as if leaking fluid
