I have a 1989 Honda civic just had a rebuild what

Code 1 Oxygen Content-
Code 10 Intake Air Temperature (IAT)
Code 14 Idle Air Control (IAC) valve
Sounds like the oxygen sensor (code 1) is recieving more fuel content (or unburned fuel) than it can measure...
The intake air temperature sensor isn't reading within range because...
The Idle air control valve (basically an electronic choke) isn't opening up to allow enough air into the engine to create a clean fuel burn, creating burned valves (probably intake valves) from unburned fuel.

Engine light is still on after we have replaced numerous parts

The engine light is on, Have u checked for fault codes? To check codes, pull back carpet on passenger side of car to expose ECU (electronic control unit) at 'foot' location on that side. There is a small LED display at the top of the unit, turn the key on (not running) and check for flashes, u must count the flashes to determine what codes are stored in the computer. Short flashes are for codes 1-9, two digit codes use long flashes for the 1st #, followed by short for the 2nd. There is a pause between codes, so there may be more than one. Check and let me know what u find.

If I remember correctly there is a shear pin on the half shaft on these cars.If you spun the tires on sand and then hit a dry spot where the tires got good traction, you may have sheared this pin.Or spun the tires on Ice then hit dry pavement.. same thing.

Need to know torque for the valve adjustment nut

forget the torque wrench and just nip it up with a ring spanner and a two finger pull this will give it about 15lb which is about right ,you cannot do this sort of thing with a torque wrench as the threads can be a bit tight with dried oil or whatever and you must feel the thing correctly like playing with a nice female, think the lock nouts are a 13mm spanner size on this car also if the timing belt breaks then its a valve free engine so no damage will occur ,gas are 12 inlet and 14 th inlet if i remember rightly and allow for wear under the fingers but this engine is so well made i have never seen a worn one as yet

I would recommend replacing the thermostat and flushing the system making sure all air is purged out of the system. If still persist you may have a plugged radiator. Prior to doing this I would block test the system too to check for a blown head gasket.

Can't find where to put automatic transmission fluid

there are two areas where you can add fluid from the front of the vehicle, doesnt matter what kind of car it is, one is for checking the oil the other is for the transmission fluid, but before you add transmission fluid i recommend your flush out the old transmission fluid first so all the grimey old fluid is out and at the same time can notice if any bits of metal are floating around

Car will run, but will not respond when u give it gas, in a fast manner .it shuts off. i have put a new fuel fillter on. whats should i do next

Jason: It would appear to be a timing fault...However, your car is On Board Diagnostic I (OBDI) and trouble codes that are stored can not be scanned...Is the trouble light on the dash lit? If a trouble code is stored...In the lower left passenger foot well is a blue connector...Under the carpet...Pull it down and short the two pins with a paper clip...Turn the ignition to on but don't start the engine...The light on the dash will blink out a two digit code...ie...4 Long...And 1 short=Code 41...I'll need that code to diagnose the fault...Lastly; do you have a multimeter? send a comment please...Guru...saailer I’m happy to help further over the phone at https://www.6ya.com/expert/david_6df67de3b14de867
