2003 Honda Pilot - Page 7 Questions & Answers
What does it mean when my 2003 honda pilots check
Hi, the check engine light will require you to have the engine CPU scanned for trouble code's. This can only be administered with the assistance of a diagnostic computer scan tool OBD II. You can purchase this tool, at your local auto parts store, or you can just have the scan ran at your local auto zone parts store, free of charge. Once the diagnostic scan is administered, you will be able to isolate the issues that have caused the check engine light.
This scan tool will display a print out code and the location of the issue, on the engine, as well. There are Many issues that will cause the engine light to illuminate, but the most common cause will be a failed monitoring sensor, or sensor harness failure(separated power wire, or ground).
After retrieving the code, it will be interpreted to know what caused the lights to come up and that will be used to fix the problem.
What does it mean when
Hi, your computer has detected a fault. If the car is running, drive it to your local auto parts chain and ask for a free OBD 2 scan. Write down the trouble code and send it to us for repair advice. The problem may be minor, but we cannot tell for sure without the trouble code.
Thanks for using FixYa.
Key won't turn in ignition
Make sure shifter is completely in park. Also try turning the steering wheel slightly from right to left.
Cruise control not working on 2003 honda pilot
First thing would be to check the fuse. If the fuse is good, use a vacuum pressure tester and test the control unit. It wouldn't be a bad idea to test the power to the cruise control unit as well.
What could be the problem
Hi and welcome to FixYa!
As a first course of action I strongly suggest that you remove the positive battery connector, let it sit for atleast 5mins. then reconnect it again. This will reset the system and can get it back to it's normal operation.
If the problem still persists, please try to use a different battery for it may be weak. If the fully charged battery still doesn't respond then the problem will be on the starter itself. If the starter is faulty it won't kick the flywheel which may cause the vehicle not to start.
Hope this helps and thank you for using FixYa! Have a good one!

1993 Hond Pilot gets a
the hoses that come from the heater core to the engine, remove them from the engine and backflush them with a water hose, theres probably some restriction, that should bring you some warmer heat.. then just start it up, it will blow cold at first, top off the fluid.. with the radiator cap off let the system circulate a couple of times, it will get up to normal operating temp, you will notice the fluid level go down, where the air pockets are coming out of the system.. top it off, put cap back on and you should be good to go.. hope i explained this good enough for you to understand, and not confuse you.
The audio system stopped functioning when I
Hello,I am a Guru here on fixya and will answer your question. They do have codes that you have to reprogram back in to get them to work after disconectting the battery. Most of the time you have to take it to the dealer to get the code put in it.
2003 Pilot driver's side door
There is no fuse. And the battery reset procedure would only apply if none of the other functions on the remote are working. If the door lock works inside the vehicle it probably isn't the actuator either. It could be the remote receiver.
How to replace thedooractuators

Rear hatch doesn't lift by itself when opened
There are gas charged mini-shocks which open the door. Get a new set on ebay, stay away from the dealer. They are not hard to replace, tricky part is to have someone there to hold it up while you work on it so the hatch does not fall on your head. I am sure any garage could do this for you in less than a half hour if you are not mechanically inclined.
My 2003 back right door
Sounds like your door lock actuators are getting weak and dying. I have seen this happen on a lot of older 90's Hondas. You will have to get them individually tested and/or replaced if necessary, to get your power door locks working again.
Interior a/c fan making loud blade noise at high
Look under the dash, for the fan motor,if you dont see it look under the hood ,on the firewall, or in the hearter a/c air box housing maybe the evaporator housing is there under the hood the fan must be close by turn on the fan and listen for its local. There may be something in the housing that is scraping the fan cage as it turns or a dry sleeve bearing, esp if you are needeing to change fuses often.
