An emission control sys. indicator has arised (Grand vitara 2005)

Suzuki Grand Vitara 2000cc model 2005 has a computer-controled emission control system. aalfunction indicator light which is provided on thr instrument panel comes on to indicate that the emission control system is to be serviced, that malfunction indicator comes when the engine is running, which means that there is a problem with the emission cintrol system. By the way if the cause of the problem is the the oxygine sensors or one of them, the solution will be very costy so, I would be very greatful if you please to present me a cheap solution.

Thanks in advance.

To know what it exactly is, you need a code scanner hooked to it.
If there is an autozone near you, go there, tell them the engine light is on and you need the code, takes about 30 seconds. They don't charge, where other places do. Without that code you'll be replacing things you don't need to. There is other sensors in the emission system other than the 02 sensors.

service due light or engine management light??
service light should be a spanner symbol engine light should be amber -yellow colour and looks like a gearbox.
service light.check if your vehicle is due a service if so book it in with your main dealer for a service and they will reset the warning indicator ,or if you know someone local who maintains your car they can reset the service light by holding in the reset trip button whilst turning ignition to pre start position on the display it should count down from ten -0 then reset itself and the light should go out.
management light
this can only be looked at by a suzuki main dealer where they have the correct diagnostic equipment .
dont worry to much if the car feels and drives ok its probably picked up a small fault in the ecu and will be cleared with the diagnostic check .

I have a 2001 Suzuki Grand Vitara 4wd. My gear

I have a 2001 Suzuki Grand Vitara 4wd. My gear shift is stuck in park, the button on the side wll not push all the way in. What could be the problem?

One actuator solenoid and module assembly, located on the lower portion of the steering column, locks the shifter in Park whenever it receives a signal that the ignition switch is in the ON position. When the module receives a signal from the Brake On-Off (BOO) switch that indicates the brake pedal is depressed, it unlocks the shifter so that it can be shifted out of Park."

It says the most common failures in the system are the fuse and the BOO switch, and if they are fine, special tools are needed to diagnose.

To disable the system: Apply the parking brake, turn the ignition key to LOCK, then remove the key. Insert the key and turn it to OFF. Press the brake pedal. Shift to neutral, start the vehicle and select the desired gear. Check this and additionally, I suggest check if your vehicle has some NSS (Neutral Safety Switch) that would be adjust.

Hope this helps; just keep in mind that your feedback is important and I'll appreciate your time and consideration if you leave some testimonial comment about this answer.

Have a nice day and thanks for using FixYa.

Just remove the valve from the engine, two bolts on most and use a piece of brass shim stock (available from auto parts stores like NAPA) and cut a block off gasket to go under the valve. Use the old gasket as a template but of course don't cut the hole that exhaust gas goes through in the shim stock. The shim stock comes in various thicknesses so ask the parts counter person which would work best, around .006" should be fine as far as thickness goes. You can also use a soda can for the metal, but it may not last very long.

Suzuki won"t shift into gear unless I turn the car off and put it into first

I can't shift the into gear unless I turn the car off put it into first and then go. I can shift speeding up but can only sometimes downshift. It only sometimes goes into reverse. The clutch pedal feels a lot lighter to push down. Maybe it needs to be adjusted and isn't catching?? Or what I fear is I need an entirely new clutch. Any thoughts?

make your adjustment to clutch, see how that works, but start saving up for a new clutch, or just have your inspection mechanic, take a look @ it for you, make the adjustment, and he can remove a cover and inspect the condition of your clutch with his own eyes. its a lot easyier for him than you. then, you'll know for sure. good luck

Look on the fire wall. As you open the hood it will be next to the brake master cylinder (where you add brake fluid). It will have one line in the top and one in the bottom.
