I don't understand what you mean this must be an automatic transmission what is first .
If so and the transmission fluid looks OK
First is drive dose the 4 wheel work
So you can't drive the vehicle in forward motion .
Neutral reverse and park at best can make go backwards .
The good news is it dosen't sound like the tranny is shot do you have other electrical problems or it also could be a linkage problem if cable or VACUUM operated .

Probably universal joints on the drive shafts needs replacing. The rubber boots split and water and grit gets in.

If the engine isnĀ“t making any abnormal mechanical noises, then I would expect the oil pressure sending unit at fault.
If however the engine does make more or abnormal mechanical noises, it could be a too low oil pressure and this should be addressed immediately.

If it's the 4.8 it's probably a head problem. The alluiminan the heads are made out of is like a powder that's molded together. Depending on how hot it has run it's probably ruined it. Sorry for the bad news

might be good to be the engine shown as available in this vehicle - but just for a point to initiate problems resolution for - 2.4L/3.7L/4.0L/4.7L - get an idle air replacement gasket for future use - once it is has been running or has obtained some warm up temp - disconnect your idle air control valve wiring - see what effect it has on the motor -this will effect cold engine air bypass and air/fuel enrichment for the cold engine - if it is not opening and closing properly it will not start or run/idle properly - it can/will also cause you check engine light or codes - Also in this system is an ambient air temperature sensor - telling the computer the air/motor is cold and needs to enrich-en the fuel mixture as an old fashioned choke would do - I have no idea of the condition of the overall tune up on the engine so other items may also influence or prevail - such as dirty throttle body and fuel pressure regulator / filter or egr system issues - tough to do without specs. details - codes or vehicle history This is a US based gasoline jeep ? if diesel look at glow plugs or glow plug relay

There's a problem with the immobilizer system. Take it to a reputable independent repair shop for diagnosis.

This is not an easy problem to solve at home for this vehicle. Far and away the most common cause of this issue is a faulty PCM (the vehicle's main computer). Did the vehicle just start dooing this all of a sudden with both keys? Or did it begin with one key not working and now neither works?
There are several potential causes, but in my experience it usually a bad PCM, bad SKIM (anti theft module) or the SKIM needs to be reprogrammed.
You are best advised to have it towed to the dealer or a reputable garage with experience in anti theft systems on Jeeps.
