warped heads will cause this...if it over heated badly thats going to be the problem

I would need to hear this noise to help, sorry, but you need a shop to look into this.

check the cable to the ecm they made them pull down on the pins right from the factory and messes up lots of stuff , loosen the cable and see if that helps , fixed all kinds of problems in my jeep

Try unplugging the passenger door module from the wiring harness. Module may be bad. I see one screw holding it with tabs at the other end. You should be able to pull it up without removing the door panel. I see there are modules online for less than $40.

Check to ensure the front reservoir pump is connected and receiving power. Is the fuse bad? It is possible the pump inlet is clogged. This would require removing the reservoir and flushing it. If this is a washer with an external, self-priming pump, is the pump uptake tube in the cap missing?

Yeah Michael, try tightening the belt on it just a bit tighter. You may not hear slipping belt but it is slipping. But then you say it doesn't work at all at idle, sounds a bit more like a week pump or is too low on fluid. For fluid, just use GM trans fluid, it's cheaper and the same thing as expensive tranny fluid.

Head gaskets do not make black smoke it is white and smells sweet, is that the case?

If no spark at the plugs, engine cranking, did you check primary voltage at the coil assemble, dark green wire with orange tracer, engine cranking, use a test lite on the wire check for voltage. If no voltage that will lead back to asd relay. There are some fuses involved. I believe the computer has to see both the cam and crank sensor signals or it won't ground the asd relay. All I can do is make testing suggesting.

(a key fact to know)4: ever get a tune up this decade?????5: spark gaps correct , to factory spec, and kept here doing repeated service? )6: Do the scans show the IMMO tripping the ASD off line????there are 8 reasons for ASD to trip , and cause a stall, all 8 are reported !there are 50 other reasons for stalls, called misfiring...the service manual is clear (p035x's)Peak primary circuit current not achieved with maximum dwell time.This means that the PCM charged to coil fullyand the current was way too low.that means it found (out of spec) current.even zero current, means coil burned up or the transistors to it.gee, id have the rail off and check each coilthere are 6 coils, 3 primary and 3 secondarythe SM cover this test, as all do so read it.it can also be bad connections(wires) to same.(crude, 5ohm pri, 20k secondary ohms) OUR 4.0l HAS A RAIL PACK, COILWITH 3 COILS inside, and uses wasted spark to fire all 6and if one coil fails you will loose, 2 cylinders, due to series HV wring, unless 1 wire shorts, but if one opens you loose 2 cylinders.( Kirchhoff's laws 1; an open in series circuit flows no current, so both spark plugs go dead.unless rich and super lucky , try using a scan toolwhen the engine misfire, or stalls.and report all errors seen, DTCs, a win/win. the schematic, see F18 fuse , the coil packsuper simple no? ,yes, but not on PCM end. IT WAS the oil cooler leaking

Your sensor is located next to the crankshaft pulley. it is halfway into the block and, the housing will have wire clips protruding outwards. it should be around the top left or right side of the pulley.
