Autotmatic transmission messing up? A/T can mess up vast ways. slips not up shift. not down shift do so too early or late.? scan it yet? that be first after checking ATF levels. buy or rent a scan tool, drive and see if there are DTC errors or get car serviced. only 2 ways,,,,, toss coin?

how high? name a VALUE is F or C? and what does, engine or transmission scan it to see that fact?> or just the dash guage? do tell what you saw ,exactly.

sure fuses are always first first. the key logo means the IMMOBIZER Is UNHAPPy. you will not start any jeep with that feature, unhappy. so did you try the OTHER key that came with car. lost that, oops... this was in the cards.... the scan tool , use a scan tool see the DTC error there it tells you, like BAD key. or ??? other reasons. buy a scan tool? really you have only 3 choices if IMMO upset. fuses good. 2nd key. scan it or tow it to any ASE shop in town, if rich , stealership.

that means the battery cables are dirty clean them or the charge system is failing. the clinking is the sounds of electronics going nuts, with too low a voltage to run. can be 4 things.

1. battery no good.
2. cable to same green with corrosion.
3. alternator (or related )bad.
4. phantom drains, you charge battery and while asleep it dies.

forget all those odd symptoms, the battery right now is dead fix that first, (cause )

As far as I know, your trailer towing package does not include a circuit for trailer braking. These packages normally only supply taillights, brake-lights, and turn signals. RV sales and service dealerships should be able to help you. God bless your efforts.

Check the kick down cable. If it sticks the transmission won't shift. I sprayed WD-40 on both the top and bottom connectors , and it worked like a charm. It's alot cheaper them spending 2000 on a new transmission you don't really need.

ok you stated 4.7L so tension of what belt.. the FAN belt. is my guess. my guess is you dont know that some engines have a tensioner device and others its dont by the accessory device, settings. since you gave year and engine, ill assume usa car not export. and will answer exaclty. using the FSM posted here 100 times. the answer is in the book, for WJ in chapter marked COOLING # Chpter 7 on page.23 usa car has serpentine belt. just 1. next you will ask how to deal with it. and is answered on that SAME PAGE< RTM. http://www.jeep4x4center.com/knowledge-base/index.htm?utm_source=cj#service click WJ.

In most cases this would indicate a defective brake light switch. My experience with this come from a 2001 ford windstar which would work well most times but every now and then would run the battery dead. Due to the higher cost of replacement switch I discovered function / actuation mode of the same switch did some adjustments and fixed it. Same switch now working perfectly with no relapse for over one year. If you are sure the brake pedal is returning all the way up then it is more than likely the switch. Do not be afraid to give it a look to see if you can correct the problem with some minor adjustments. If i remember correctly a good strong sharp utility knife was used when I fixed mine, be careful not to cut yourself!!
