Check engine light indicates p700 code
Diagnostic Test Code (DTC) P0700 is an informational code that is stored in the Engine Control Module (ECM) That informs the diagnostic technician that there are codes present in the Transmission Control Module (TCM) and that the TCM has requested the Malfunction Indicator Lamp (MIL) (AKA - Check Engine Light) to be turned on. This is because the MIL is controlled by the ECM and cannot be turned on directly by the TCM. So, the TCM requests the ECM to turn the light on. To find out the nature of the failure that caused the P0700, one must scan the TCM to retrieve the fault codes stored there. Please note that MOST generic OBD code readers cannot access the TCM - this is the reason for the P0700 code to set in the ECM (to alert somebody with a generic code reader that further diagnosis is needed for the TCM).

Jeep cherokee, 2000 year model has a bad window
Hi I B M,
I take it we've gone beyond finessing it? Sorry.
The contacts on the second most used switch in the vehicle do wear out. Unfortunately the door panel has to be removed to access the switch array.
- Remove the door panel
- Remove the switch array
- Find a local U-Pull-It type wrecking yard. Bring your switch with you
- Explore the jeep section. Find a switch with the same socket pattern as yours and buy it for $5.00 (which beats the heck out of $35.00 at the dealership)
- You can even see if it works in the parking lot
- Put your door back together and close your window
BTW, My '86 Cherokee did the same thing. You won't have any problems
Best regards
Mike

Transmission
why not scan it
the CEL glow to say, please scan me, i have errors.
in 2000 year cars, the PCM reports all TCM errors. they are unified.
so scan it, what is the delay there, ????
do , get it, or at the least autozoned scans (kiddy scan)
get the real DTCs dont let the kid blabber, "that bla bla is bad"
if he knew what was bad, he'd not be a clerk.

What sensor is used to sense the battery voltage?
Julie, Its easier to add an analog gauge and wiring than to chase around for the factory built-in. It will be more reliable and you will be more relaxed in which direction to seek a resolution on the issue, maybe the battery, alternator, Primary Comp Module voltage regulator, is going weak. Viewing the U-tubes will give better understanding.
