Hi. this light is a warning that concerns the ABS sensor and mechanism assembly. there is a central module and connecting sensors that are attached to each axle/rotor. If any of the sensors become unstable or starts to malfunction, the main module will detect this anomaly and it will trip the light via, the ECM.

I recommend taking this vehicle in so that the ABS techs can diagnosis this issue and they can pin point which sensor or mechanism is malfunctioning.

You vehicle seems to operate in a normal manner at this point but, you will actually have to be in a hard braking situation in order to experience this malfunctions results. If you where to initiate a hard brake while the ABS system is in safe mode(light on), your vehicle would simply lock up. It would not provide the ABS actions due to this malfunction that is evident at this point.

Please rate and god bless:)

What is the correct antifreeze type for a 2006

What is the correct antifreeze type for a 2006 chrysler pacifica

The "CORRECT" antifreeze is HOAT which stands for "hybrid organic additive technology" and is only available at Chrysler dealers and costs over $20 a gallon. But if you buy the kind that says"add to any color antifreeze" it is ok....I have added it to mine with no problems.....watch the labels though, some say they can be used to "replace" any fluid but require a complete system flush.....it took me about three days of fretting and researching to find some stuff that would be ok to add. hope this helps.

Remove 4 plastic retainers on the very bottom of the bumper cover in the rear. 4. Remove 2 phillips head screws in the wheel well rear lip. 5. Remove 4 pop-up plastic retainers in liftgate area. Use two screw drivers to lift the head and then pull the entire retainer out. 6. Remove a hex-head bolt from each side in the area revealed when the taillight assembly was removed. 7. Push tabs out of slots to separate the upper and lower bumper covers. 11. Release tab locks on chrome trim pieces and remove from upper bumper cover. 12. Reverse this process to replace the bumper cover.

2006 Pacifica emergency brake problem.

My parking brake does not work. How can I go about adjusting it?

The only manual adjustment for the parking brake on these is at the shoes themselves. Procedure for that is as follows:

1) Place parking brake lever in "full released" position.
2) Raise and support vehicle.
3) Remove plug in parking brake shoe support to access adjuster star-wheel.
NOTE: Through the access hole, rotate the adjuster wheel in the following direction to expand the shoes outward against the drum.
Left brake--Rotate star wheel toward rear of vehicle.
Right brake--Rotate star wheel toward front of vehicle.
4)Using an appropriate tool, turn adjuster star wheel until wheel will not rotate (dead lock).
5) Back off adjuster six detents (teeth).
6) Rotate wheel, checking for light drag. If drag is too heavy, continue to back of adjuster one detent at a time until light drag is present. Do not back off star-wheel more than 17 detents from wheel lock.
7) Install access plug.
8) Adjust opposite wheel parking brake shoes using same method.
9) Lower Vehicle.
10) Apply and release parking brake lever once to ensure proper operation of parking brakes.

These directions are directly from 2006 Pacifica factory service manual. Just now have this problem with our 2006 Pacifica. I tried disconnecting the battery for a few minutes to see if that would somehow "reset" something internally... but no joy....

When I'm stopped at a light/sign and push the pedal to accelerate, the transmission "jerks" into first then a smaller "****" into second. It drives fine from there. It doesn't do this all the time when I accelerate but it's very noticable. What could be the problem?
