How to change front rotors on a 2006 pontiac grand

Remove wheel, remove the two bolts in the calipers, pull up calipers,
remove pads compress caliper piston with a c-clamp, be sure to have the brake fluid cap off the reservoir under the hood. pull the rotor off and put the new one on. - replace pads and reverse the order.

Car cranks over fine can't figure out why I don't have a spark to the coils. I have changed the ignition module and also got 3 new coils, spark plug wires and crank sensor.

Question edited for clarity. Question moved from Misc to model category. Did you disconnect the battery or did the battery go flat recently? Is the security light flashing? Reset the alarm and engine immobilizer. 2005 Pontiac Grand Prix no crank, no start.

not getting any comms through my obd2 scanner ?? What kind of scanner ? Full function one that can communicate with all the computers (modules) on the vehicle ? BCM ,IPC,HVAC etc.. Do you know how the electronics work on this vehicle , what happens when you turn the key to start? Circuit Description (Key Start) For ignition switch power modes refer to Body Control System Description and Operation in Computer/Integrating Systems. When the ignition switch is placed in the Start position a discrete 12 volts signal is supplied to the body control module (BCM) notifying it that the ignition is in the Start position. The BCM then supplies a class 2 message to the engine control module (ECM) / powertrain control module (PCM) notifying it that CRANK has been requested. At the same time the BCM is supplying 12 volts for the IGN 1 Relay / IGNITION MAIN PCM Relay closing it and supplying battery positive voltage for the CRANK Relay / STRTR Relay coil. The ECM/PCM verifies that the transmission is in Park or Neutral. If it is, the ECM/PCM grounds the control circuit of the CRANK Relay / STRTR Relay. When this occurs battery positive voltage is supplied through the switch side of the CRANK Relay / STRTR Relay to the S terminal of the starter solenoid.Do you know what power moding is ? Power Mode Description and Operation Power to many of this vehicle's circuits are controlled by the module that is designated the power mode master (PMM). This vehicles PMM is the body control module (BCM). The PMM controls which power mode (Run, Accessory, Crank, Retained Accessory Power, or Off) is active. Serial Data Power Mode On vehicles that have several control modules connected by serial data circuits, one module is the power mode master (PMM). On this vehicle, the PMM is the body control module (BCM). The PMM receives 3 discrete ignition switch signals to differentiate which power mode will be sent over the Serial Data circuits. Relay Controlled Power Mode The body control module (BCM) uses the discrete ignition switch inputs ignition 1, ignition 3 and crank to distinguish the correct power mode. Once the BCM has determined the power mode selected by the vehicle operator it will energize the Ignition relay, Run relay and retained accessory power (RAP) relay, depending on which power mode is selected. Ignition 1 Relay The relay uses a Hot At All Times B+ power source derived from the underhood electrical center. The ignition 1 relay supplies a power signal to the following circuits when the Run or Crank power mode is selected: • AC clutch relay • ABS STG angle sensor • Antilock brake system (ABS) yaw sensor • Auxiliary power drop connector • Crank relay • Cruse control switch • Electronic brake control module (EBCM) • Engine control module (ECM) • Heating, ventilation, and air conditioning module (HVAC) • Ignition control module (ICM) • Instrument panel cluster (IPC) • Sensing and diagnostic module (SDM) • Transmission solenoid circuit Retained Accessory Power (RAP) Relay The RAP relay is energized when the Run or Accessory power mode has been selected. The relay uses a Hot At All Times B+ power source derived from the underhood electrical center. The B+ power source is protected by the 50 Amp BATT MAIN 2 fuse. The BCM also energizes the relay for 10 minutes after the vehicle operator transitions the ignition switch from Accessory to OFF or Run to OFF positions. The following circuits are controlled by the RAP relay: • Power sunroof • Power windows Your best bet , take it to a qualified repair shop .

Pontiac Grand Prix 2005 - my left turn signal on the dash board blinks faster than usual but the left signal lamp in the front of the car does not flash! It remains steady. What's wrong ?

Turn Signal Lamps The STOP/TURN/HAZARD fuse in the instrument panel (I/P) fuse block supplies battery positive voltage to the body control module (BCM) for the turn signal lamps. When the turn switch is placed in the LEFT TURN or RIGHT TURN position, ground is applied from G202 through the turn switch, to the turn signal switch signal circuit and to the BCM. The BCM then applies battery positive voltage to front and rear turn signal lamps supply voltage circuits. The left front turn signal lamp is grounded at G100, right front at G101, left rear at G301 and the right rear is at G302. Turn Signal Reminder The driver information center (DIC) activates the turn signal warning as requested by either turn signal switch. The turn signal warning sounds when the following occurs: • The ignition is in RUN. • The turn signal switch is in either turn position, sensing, within 1 second, an open to battery positive voltage transition in the turn signal control circuit, left or right turn. • The vehicle has traveled a distance of 1.2 km (0.75 mi) by counting pulses in the rolling odometer class 2 message. The DIC turns OFF the turn signal reminder when either the ignition switch is turned to the OFF position, or the turn signal switch returns to the OFF position, sensing within 1 second, no transitions from open to battery positive voltage in either of the turn signal control circuits, left turn or right turn. My first step would be to hook up a factory scan tool an check for DTC'S - diagnostic trouble codes DTC B3948 Left Front Turn Signal Circuit Circuit Description Ground is applied to the turn signal switch. When the turn signal switch is placed in the turn left position, ground is applied to the body control module (BCM) through the left turn signal switch circuit. The BCM then applies a pulsating voltage to the LF and LR turn signal lamps through the LF and LR turn signal voltage supply circuits. What's the left rear lamp doing ? Flashing fast ? DTC B3950 Left Rear Turn Signal Circuit

Noise under hood sounds like phone ringing

The ringing noise could the heat shield to the spark plugs. As for the other problem, it sounds like it's time for a summer tune up. Spark plug and  wire, air and fuel filter. Good luck and and don't for get the oil change too.

How do i change the brake pads on a 2005 grand

remove the caliper, by removing the two holding bolts, then use a old brake pad against the pistons and a c clamp and push piston all the way in, next is to clean and lube pad mounting surface and the caliper slide pin, then install new pads on bracket then caliper and tighten caliper bolts, heres a diagram to help you,98c6b31.jpg150490f.jpg

Acceleration problems: really doggy and won't

Check/change air filter.
Check/change spark plugs & plug wires. The wires can be check with an OHM meter, and the specs for the resistance in the manual. So can the ignition coils.
Change fuel filter...easy.
Last, if you have scanner...check MAF(mass air flow sensor) for operating specs...5g/sec at idle to 300gal/sec+ @ 3,000 RPM.

Why did you install a new ignition switch ? Lock cylinder part or electrical ? You have no idea of the complexity of the electronic's on this vehicle ,your best bet take it to a qualified repair shop. The body control module (BCM) uses the discrete ignition switch inputs ignition 1, ignition 3 and crank to distinguish the correct power mode. Once the BCM has determined the power mode selected by the vehicle operator it will energize the Ignition relay, Run relay and retained accessory power (RAP) relay, depending on which power mode is selected. Power to many of this vehicle's circuits are controlled by the module that is designated the power mode master (PMM). This vehicle PMM is the body control module (BCM).
