How to remove key from 2000 jimmy ignition
Is it broken off in the ignition switch? If so, you will need a locksmithing key extract tool. It is a small strip of metal with teeth in it. You try and hook the broken key and gently pull it out.
Good luck as these are tough to do if you haven't done on before.
Security light flashes key won;t turn
Sounds like the ignition lock cylinder has gone bad. A pretty common problem with GM vehicles. Try tapping it with the handle end of a large screwdriver. Don't be afraid to give it a good whack. Then try the key. If you get it to turn replace the lock cylinder immediately. The key needs to be in the run position in order for the cylinder to be removed. If it can not be put in the run position it makes removal a lot more difficult. I’m happy to assist further over the phone at

2001 jimmy stuck in 4wd low
Usually when a truck gets stuck in 4 low you need to put it in reverse, start backing up very slowly, put it in neutral (or push in the clutch on manual trans models) and stop the truck with the brakes. this will release the load on the gearing which should allow you to shift out of 4 low.
Cranks over won't start until you let off key and it will run briefly but very rough
Quite possible that it is the ignition switch
Pull the codes. Fuel pump, Fuel Filter, Crank position sensor, TPS sensor, Coil Pack, Vacuum leaks. Even something as simple as good clean battery connections,, If your cables are corroded and covered with oxidation clean with soda water and an old tooth brush
throw away the brush after Lol That is real cheap $2 for soda water.
If you are not savvy with troubleshooting engine management systems, find a good reputable mechanic and let them do what they do well,

Leland,
Have the Catalytic Converter looked and and tested.
If that is OK then test the fuel pump pressure
Either of these items will let a small amount of fuel in at engine idle. When under load the engine starves for fuel.
These are simplest things to do before digging in.
