1990 dodge caravan won't start coil is good ,new
Check starter relay the 2nd one from the washer jug. Feel for clicks while someone else is attempting to start it. If there isn't any, you can tap it lightly with the back of a screwdriver handle. If it starts, replay the relay. Also, make sure it isn't fuel related by taking starter fluid and spraying it into the intake...you will need to take the plastic air intake tube off to get access to the throttle body.If you do get it to start, but won't continue to run, check the 1st relay for clicks as well...replace as needed.
1990 Caravan: it keeps falling off...
How many miles...could be the fuel pump sock is dirty. Check for ampage from the data terminal located close to the relays. You will need a DVOM and have it on ampage test. It plugs into terminal #1 & #6. #1 isn't too hard to locate sine #2 is empty and #6 is on the back of that terminal which is on the same side of #2 terminal. The ampage shouldn't be no more than 4.5. If it is pulling close to 7amps, The pump is going bad. Another way to test it is put a fuel pressure gage on the schader valve by the throttle body. Place it up by the windshield so you can see if while you are driving and see if drops off while this issue is happening. A good reading should be at least 37psi. Make sure that you have a new fuel filter on which is under the vehicle, passenger's side.
1990 dodge caravan headlights go off and back on
Hold you hand on the light switch after a while of driving with the lights on and see if it is getting hot. If it is replace it, if it doesn't seem to be hot, you still might want to replace it. There is a terminal in the back of the light switch that melts so be prepared to go to the junk yard and cut another one off, but make sure that you solder the repacement one in since wire connectors will only heat back up and do the same thing again.
1990 dodge carvan won;t start back up when it get

Make sure that the fuel pump relay is clicking when attempting to start. It will be called the ASD relay in your book. It is located on the driver's side of the vehilce under the hood, 1st one from the washer jug.Check the 2nd one as well it is the started relay, but can cause problems too.You can put your hand on the relay and have someone turn the key on, but don't attempt to start it yet; just feel for the click. If there isn't any, you can tap it with the back handle of a screw driver to loosen it. If it still doesn't work, you may have to replace it. The other thing that you can do is take the black data connector that is laying in the area of the relays and take a jumper wire and with the key in on position, jump terminal 1 & 6 this is for the fuel pump. There are 6 terminals in this connector that is how you will identify it. 1 is easy since #2 is an empty slot. #6 will be the back one on the side of the empty #2 slot. This is to test the fuel pump. This will at least let you know whether the fuel pump is able to work.

Shifts into gear extreemly hard
Often the fluid type can do that. If you just had the fluid changed recently, it's likely that the wrong fluid was used (they all have different friction coefficients) If I remember correctly Chrysler makes an additive that will help with harsh shifting as well.
If not a fluid problem, then likely you have a pressure control problem inside the unit that would need to be checked by a shop using gauges. (could be as simple as a "kick-down"cable adjustment to correct)
I was driving my 1990 Dodge Caravan last
Remove dist. cap and make sure rotor is turning. If so, you have eliminated the timing belt as the problem. Now find and remove fuel rail pressure port connector valve cap. Looks like tire valve. Depress valve. You should have fuel pressure. If so, I would remove ignition module/coil pack assembly and have it checked for free at any major parts supplier. Disconnect negative cable before removing anything electrical
