I would be looking again for a vacuum leak. The damper failure on acceleration suggests the vacuum was weak to begin with. Would it be possible to disconnect the vacuum at the manifold and the switch and just jump directly from the manifold to the switch with a new piece of vacuum hose? That would suggest a leak somewhere else in a vacuum line. Also, have you checked the vacuum line from the switch to the damper? Can you get a connector and just bypass the switch (to see f the switch is bad?

test solenoid.trace positive lead from battery.jump the two big wires at solenoid(use two screw drives.if cranks replace.other possibilites are a fusibale link its a inline fuse there is lots of them off starter.look like a little box in wire test both sides with test lite should lite at each end.

This sounds like a bad primary ignition coil, that is overheating and shorting out. Check for spark at the plug wire when it quits. Do this by inserting Phillips head screwdriver into sparkplug wire and hold 1/2 inch from manifold bolt while someone cranks it over. You should have a blue spark if not replace ignition coil. Removal

1. Raise and support the vehicle.
2. Remove the wheel and tire assembly.
3. Remove the differential housing cover and drain the lubricant.
4. Remove the rear brake drums.

Remove the U-washers.

Installation

1. Lubricate the lip of the inner wheel bearing oil seal.

• Use Premium Long-Life Grease XG-1-C or equivalent meeting Ford specification ESA-M1C75-B.

Definitely sounds like a fuel pump problem. Have you checked fuel pressure with a gauge ?
