2001 Chevrolet Silverado wont start, changed starter, still will not start, battery checks out, and all light and stereo comes on, can this be a security alarm issue and can you reset it?

Do you know how to test a starter electrical circuit ? How to voltage drop test starter motor circuit Starter Voltage Drop The anti- theft system has nothing to do with the cranking of the starter . Disables fuel injectors so the engine doesn't run . The theft deterrent system has been incorporated into the body control module (BCM). The theft deterrent is provided in order to prevent the vehicle operation if the correct key is not used in order to start the vehicle. The ignition key turns the lock cylinder. The cylinder rotation produces an analog voltage code in the Passlockā„¢ sensor. This voltage code is received by the BCM. The BCM compares the voltage code to the previously learned voltage code. If the codes match, a class 2 message is sent from the BCM to the powertrain control module (PCM)/vehicle control module (VCM). The message enables the fuel injectors.

Low beams won't work but high beams do.

From looking at a wiring diagram i would say the headlamp dimmer switch is bad . Testing the electrical circuit would be the way to tell for sure ! Not guessing an just replacing parts . Both hi an low beams receive B+ voltage from the same fuse's an HDLP relay . From there B+ voltage goes through the dimmer switch to ground . The daytime running lights are a separate system , different fuse an relay an lights . Do you know how read an use a wiring diagram for testing electrical circuits ? What could keep my coil from firing ? I have the Ignition control signal and 12v. while cranking over engine at the top primary wiring of coil. Can you help me get spark?

Sounds like the security system is causing your problem. Is the "security" light flashing? If it is, turn the key on, leave the key in the ON position for 10 minutes. The light will stop flashing. Now, turn OFF the key, turn it back to ON, and then crank it. It should start. If the security light starts flashing again, go through the process again until it starts. This is resetting the security system after the battery has died, battery has been changed, radio was changed, instrument cluster was removed and replaced, etc. Hope this works for you.

Does the the Ecm generate the signal for crank sensor?

The crank sensor generates the signal for the ecm. Every revolution of the crankcase sends a momentary impulse to the ecm. That data then gives the ecm the info with which to properly coordinate the firing of the spark plugs and other critical components. When testing the sensor most important thing to do is make sure that the sensor is receiving the 12 volts of power on one hot line and then if confirmed you check out the remaining power line for the impulse as the crank rotates. If you detect the impulse then you know the sensor is working.

Cannot find the fuse for license plate lights.

Hello. There is no separate fuse for just the license plate lights. Those lights are part of the main exterior lighting circuit. If those are the only lights not functioning, you might nave a broken wire or bad ground.

Brakee lines

You find where the leak is and replace that part of the line with the same size line and then you need to bleed the brakes and get the air out of the line. Be sure when you bleed the lines the master cylinder always has fluid in it You will need someone to pump up the brake and hold it and do not take there foot off of the brake when you have the bleeder at each wheel open or you will suck air back into the system.
