Replace fuel injector
A lot like changing a plug. Depressurize system at Test port on fuel rail, unplug electric connector, and uncouple connector to fuel rail. Then twist and pull to remove with O rings.

Reading codes
Check the wiring to the throttle body, check the supply voltages as well. Check fuses too, it sounds like it received a voltage spike and then lost voltage and is now forcing limited rpm.

Help fix my truck please
Several things come to mind. Usually failsafe has something to do with overheating or a temperature sensor falsely thinking the engine is overheating.Another problem is a part called a "Cam Phaser". It would account for stalling, no power, no acceleration and not idling right. It is not an electronic part. Do an internet search for the part and read the results.Because the "cam phaser" is not electrical, it is not directly identified by the onboard computer. The effects of the malfunction could possibly have other electrical parts trigger the "fail safe". As for part of the problem temporarily leaving after the battery was disconnected, it is common when power is removed.Briefly, the cam phaser mechanically advances cam timing, but each side of the engine has its own phaser. Problems result when both phasers do not work equally. Please rate my info.

Resetting codes
A generic code reader at a auto parts store should reset the codes for you, auto zone might do it for free,if not the code reader is only about 70 bucks.

Transmission slipping in first gear
If you take your Foot off the GAS PEDAL, will it go into the next gear? Transmissions shift by using PRESSURE and Opening the Solenoids Passages. You may have a Solenoid Problem or a Electrical Issue, Normally if it is shifting out of 1st and going nowhere, I would suspect a Solenoid issue. You may has also broke the Sun Shell inside the Transmission. This is not a Troubleshooting that I can go very far with you unless I hooked up my scanner but what you need is someone to put a Scan Tool on your Expedition and see what is actually happening. Sorry to give you the Bad news but I think at the minimum, you are looking at dropping your Pan and changing out a Solenoid but you could also have a major rebuild also... Sorry

2005 Ford Expedition Electronic Throttle Control
Go to Autozone if the vehicle will run. Have them test the computer for codes. If not running, the TPS, Throttle Position Sensor is easy to change.
You would take off all the air filter ductwork up to the metal part on the engine. There is one big butterfly valve on this part. The TPS screws onto the metal airhorn and has 2 screws and 1 electric plug and is on the drivers side of the metal part. It is about the size of a cigarette lighter. The part slips over the slot of the butterfly shaft. Just be sure everything lines up. It is usually correct when installed.
There is some adjustment possible, but write us again for those instructions. You really should be okay the way it is. Let us know how this worked for you.

P2004 intake valve stuck open
code p2004 refers to intake manifold air control actuator-bank 1--actuator stuck open===Causes---wiring--intake manifold air control actuator---mechanical fault .I would check blockage and wire connections Then I would replace the actuator But I would not tear down the engine as it is between the air filter and the manifold. Check the air cleaner element
