My 2008 Ford Ranger's heater is blowing cool air and not heating. What could the problem be?
In my case was the Temperature Blend Door Actuator (electric motor inside is weak) this is very usual in Ford Ranger 2008. For all models part Number 19E616 AA.
1. Open the Gloves Box all the way down (is very simple, you will see it).
2. A white little box in front of you with a electric connector. That is the part to replace (see pic below).
3. Only 3 screws 5/16" and the electric connector (with a clip) The access is bad to the back screw, but I did it in like 2 hrs. Ford Dealer is going to charge you 6.3 hrs. because they remove the air bag.
Use a Combination Wrench (small) and a Roto Ratchet (small) this is all you need and lots of patience. You will get tired just rest and try little later.
Good luck.

on my 1996 ford ranger the odometer/trip stopped working. The speedometer & all the other gauges seem to work fine. How can this be fixed??
Since your speedometers work, the problem is in the gearing to the trip and mileage odometers. Simple problem, major pain to fix but, remove instrument cluster - you'll have to remove speedo cable to get it out. Use the old Mark I eyeball to check for broken parts. Might even have to drop steering column - disconnect air bag first!

What is the spark plug gap for a 1996 Ford Ranger 3.0? When purchasing the plugs I was informed it was .44. but I am getting a slight back fire when engine is running.
0.042-0.046 is the correct gap for your spark plugs,If it is backfiring now and was not before make sure you were not sold platinum bosch plugs and if you are using factory plugs, then I be looking for a faulty spark plug. Also make sure the firing order is correct.

How do I replace the valve cover gaskets for a 1996 Ford Ranger w/ 3.0L Engine?
The valve covers installed on the 3.0L engine incorporate integral
(built in) gaskets which should last the life of the vehicle.
Replacement gaskets are available if required.
To install:

ignition control module location on ford ranger 2.3L engine 4 cylinder.
It does not have an ignition control module. The PCM (powertrain control module) fires the coil pack based on signal it recieves from the crankshaft position sensor and the camshaft position sensor.
