One fuel injector staying on causing fuel to come
Hello, First, when you get this fixed change the oil immediately. If the Injector is stuck running, it is stuck not running and the fuel will continue to pour into that cylinder and flood the crankcase.
About the best bet is an inspection of the sparkplugs. It has not fouled one yet or you would be getting a Code for a misfire. But you may be able to detect a wet or poorly burning plug and find the bad cylinder and therefore the bad Injector.
You will otherwise have to do a visible inspection of all the Injectors. There are tests for Injectors but can't say If anyone besides a Dealer has the machine. If you can pull the Injectors out of the heads and still attached to the fuelrail, it may be possible to turn the Ignition Key to Run and find the one Injector which is leaking. All the Injectors will be in a closed position and once you power up the fuelpump the leaker will show.
Do this on a cold engine and clean up the mess afterwards or you could have a fire. I think it is a waste of time to try to test the Injector for resistence with an Ohmmeter because the valving is stuck and the solenoid coil is good.
I hope my solution is helpful and would like to know which solution helped you find the bad part.

The hubs engage by vaccum, you probably have a leak somewhere, the problem is it doesn't have to be leaking at the modual, anywhere on the engine that there is a vaccum line can cause this problem. If this is a truck that you like and want to keep for a long time you should consider swithing over to manual hubs they never fail and you'll save a ton of gas when your running in two wheel drive.

First of all, I'd have to say some of this is weatherstripping. The whistling sound is usually the sign of air leaking majorly into the cab, unless you can hear a specific place, IE, from the floor, from the front, or the very back, in which case, check the transmission, engine, and differential/carrier gear, respectively. Check for a vacuum leak by taking a can of starting ether, and follow all hoses that go to intake. Spray ether along them all, and if the engine RPM suddenly revs up, you've found your leak.

How do you set the timming on a 2.3 when your
The IGNITION timing on your
Ranger is computer-controlled and is not adjustable.
Should the camshaft drive belt/timing belt jump timing by a tooth or
two, the engine could still run; but very poorly. To visually check for
correct timing of the crankshaft, auxiliary shaft, and the camshaft
follow this procedure:
There is an access plug provided in the cam drive belt cover so that
the camshaft timing cam be checked without moving the drive belt cover.
-
Remove the access plug.
-
Turn the crankshaft until the timing marks on the crankshaft indicate TDC.
-
Make sure that the timing mark on the camshaft drive sprocket is aligned with the pointer on the inner belt cover.
Never turn the crankshaft of any of the overhead cam engines in the
opposite direction of normal rotation. Backward rotation of the
crankshaft may cause the timing belt to slip and alter the timing.

-
Rotate the engine so that No. 1 cylinder is at TDC on the
compression stroke. Check that the timing marks are aligned on the
camshaft and crankshaft pulleys. An access plug is provided in the cam
belt cover so that the camshaft timing can be checked without removal of
the cover or any other parts. Set the crankshaft to TDC by aligning the
timing mark on the crank pulley with the TDC mark on the belt cover.
Look through the access hole in the belt cover to make sure that the
timing mark on the cam drive sprocket is lined up with the pointer on
the inner belt cover.
Always turn the engine in the normal direction of rotation. Backward
rotation may cause the timing belt to jump time, due to the arrangement
of the belt tensioner.

Drain cooling system. Remove the upper radiator hose as necessary. Remove the fan blade and water pump pulley bolts.
It back fired and when i started up it wont idle,
Don't know what caused the backfire, but often the pressure from the backfire causes a vacuum line to come off (usually a large one; brake booster, PCV or similar size). this lets extra air past the throttle butterfly and raises the idle speed. find your vacuum leak and the idle speed should return to normal.
How to replace the fuel tank on a 1995 ford ranger
raise back end of truck as far as you can undo the bolts on the medal straps and start lowering the tank...it is best to have the tank empty,,,,,undo the hoses on the fuel pump and remove wire harness off the fuel pump ... then turn to the right just a bit and pull towards the back..not very hard to do just can be a pain..

check to see if you have good flow threw the e.g.r valve, make sure the passage ways under the valve are not plugged with carbon, its pretty common.
