Hello Gabriel Galvan,
I was with you most of the way... until you got to
"water pump"...
Yes ...!!
"
damage wires" should all be repaired.
GREEN is a fusible link... (must have)...
Red ("ST" lead
)... is the
STARTER wire from
your IGNITION switch.
>> For FREE drawing ... see below.
AS to the
WATER PUMP:
Now I think you are being
flim-flammed ...
(pathetic or dishonest advise:
your choice).
Alternator could have been damaged (likely) ...
BUT that will
NOT keep your truck
from starting...
Your focus was on the
SOLENOID...
Keep that focus... you are now the proud owner of two...
Probably still good... (always nice to have spare parts).
If the symptom (not starting) remains unchanged...
were YOU hearing the SOLENOID
click...??
Yes = bad
STARTER MOTOR or POOR battery.
No = Wiring THROUGH the
IGNITION SWITCH.
There are two starter drawings that show the 1986
(oldest truck shown
)... After that I STRONGLY recommend
you beg, borrow or BUY the FORD Factory Workshop
manuals...
They are great (but make sure to get the
ELECTRICAL).
Be VERY careful about testing the starter... It can
be STARTED... and wouldn't you just hate driving away... with YOURSELF draped over your own front fender
(SUGGESTION: pull the SPARK WIRE before testing
(unless you are ready to drive)).
I am usually here daily... Comment questions if you wish.
