Car been sitting up for last 6 months now will not crank
Fuel, Spark and Air are primary to starting car. Fuel tank definitely has fuel (some friendly neighbor didn't borrow yours)? How OLD is the gas - it can go bad. Must have spark if runs @ all. Anything clogging the air filter ? You've checked for rodent damage to wires/hoses under the hood/dash?
check for CEL codes - you can buy an OBD2 scanner for $20 @ Walmart.
Cheers,
Td

You have a vacuum leak. Did you use new intake manifold gaskets and torque the bolts according to the spec? Did you get all of the vacuum lines back on in the right places?

My explorer wont turn over acts like its stolen
My mechanic disconnected the security section because my key I use to start the car had the security spot on the key was loose and would not work in the ignition It was going to cost a lot for a new set of keys so he took the security section out for a lot less. As he said an older car does not need security.

No reverse lights, overdrive off doesnt work or daytime running lights
you need to remove the battery and check each connection from the circuit, test the feed from the live wire on the battery to the fuse just to find the pole on the fuse then the other end is where you need to put the matter, then check to ground any earth on the vehicle with ignition on, if it beeps on metter or goes 000 then it grounded and you need to up plug the connection to each electrical unit on its path to find the grounded wire or unit. check the reversing lights and the feed to the daytime lights. the day time light will have a main wire off the ignition to a relay so when the ignition is turned on the lights will come on. check this relay as some relays have a resister in them for the lights them self only if this is shorted replace the relay.
