2002 Ford Taurus Burning rubber smell white smoke from under the hood no oil or coolant leaks 3.0L DOHC
Is there a squealing noise like the pulley may have locked up? Make sure you don't have wiring getting hot.Check all areas near the exhaust and at the firewall area where the EGR piping comes off the exhaust.
Make sure nothing is laying against the exhaust or catalytic converter. don-ohio

2002 taurus won't start - fuel press ok - no spark - replaced coil pack and camshaft position sensor - checked all fuses and relays - spins over fine - full of fuel - tried another key - 3.0 24valve dohc - no symptoms leading up to failure - no codes
I hear the same problem in this model and it turned out that he just needed a set
of new spark plug wires. Are you try this?
The two most common causes for this concern is a...
- Faulty Crankshaft Position Sensor (CKP), or
- Bad fuel pump.
Make sure
the theft light is not flashing rapidly, and the inertia switch is set:
- If the theft light is flashing,
you most likely have a bad key. Let the car rest for 15 mins and try a
different key (check the Owners Manual for armed/disarm)
-
The inertia switch is in the trunk, on the right side. You will see a
red button. Make sure it is depressed.
If both are ok, Check fuel pressure, and check for RPM
with a scan tool:
- If no RPM signal, replace the CKP,
- If no fuel
pressure, replace fuel filter and fuel pump.
Hope helps.

WILL THE PCV VALVE CAUSE A CAR NOT TO START? IF ITS GOES WITH OUT GETTING IT FIX WHAT PROMBLEMS WILL IT CAUSE?
The blowby vapors that end up in an engine's crankcase contain moisture as well as combustion byproducts and unburned fuel vapors. The crankcase is sealed to prevent the escape of these gases into the atmosphere, but the vapors must be removed to prevent oil contamination that leads to sludge formation. The positive crankcase ventilation (PCV) system siphons these vapors from the crankcase and routes them into the intake manifold so they can be reburned in the engine. The main component in the PCV system is the PCV valve, which is usually located in the valve cover. A hose connects the PCV valve to the intake manifold. A second hose between the air cleaner and crankcase or other valve cover (V6 or V8 applications) provides fresh air to help flush the vapors out of the crankcase. Some engines have a separate air filter for the PCV breather hose located inside the air cleaner.
Probably not read above for details.

When the power steering pump is filled with power steering fluid , the fluid ejects from the cap of the power steering pump when the vehicle is switched off. Why is this happening even though the power steering pump is not overflowed with fluid ?
There are 2 marks on the dipstick. NEVER fill it above the top mark.
