2004 Dodge Dakota. I hit the brake pedal and the whole truck vibrated in the front end.

Question edited for clarity. Question moved to model category. It could be a few things, none of them good and all dangerous. Have it checked out by a mechanic. A few of the reasons in the link, disc brakes and suspension are the most likely. https://www.google.com/search?q=2004+Dodge+Dakota.+I+hit+the+brake+pedal+and+the+whole+truck+vibrated+in+the+front+end ..

2004 Dodge Dakota. It down shifts hard and now it won't shift out of 2nd gear and I have code P0734 and the fluid level is good. Where is the solenoid located?

Question edited for clarity and spelling 'solenoid'. Question moved to model category. It may not be the solenoid, it is a speed sensor error related to 4th gear. The P0734 code stands for "Gear 4 Incorrect Ratio." It's logged when the PCM detects that the RPM of your input speed sensor doesn't match the expected RPM in 4th gear. Aug 17, 2023

2004 Dodge Dakota. It keeps blowing the blower fan resistor, and now the blower motor quit. Is there something wrong with the temperature control?

The problem was the motor. Replace the blower motor and resister and it should be fine. If the blower motor resistor is experiencing repeated failure, the blower motor is likely drawing too much current. Excess current draw from the blower motor will cause the resistor to burn out. The blower motor in your truck has a resistor block with multiple resistor wires. Jun 21, 2023

2004 Dodge Dakota. Can I drive it without the front driveline and if I can will it leak fluids from transfer case.

Just drive it carefully. The front driveshafts provide rigidity. I would be worried the wheels would buckle in or out. You should watch the YouTube Channel 'Just Rolled In'. Your type of fix features in some of the videos. :>) https://www.google.com/search?q=2004+Dodge+DakotaFront+drive+line+CV+joint ..

2004 Dodge Dakota crank sensor wiring short. Where is the most common short found.

Hi, a short would occur where a missing resistor should have been placed on a basic generic circuit. So the most common short would be in a place with a missing resistor of some type (ie a light bulb, led or actual resistor). Thank you.

NO DC power (like 12vdc ) you mean? left low beans and high dead, and high flasher dead too? left.????? no the TCM transmission brain does not connect to any head lamps but BCM does. body brains. yes all modern cars switch (electronic fuse) splits them so if one shorts not going 80mph blind at night, (safety first) and all that. and the DOT laws that dictate that USA> I will pretend you said USA, like I always do for the same reasons. no country told and then read the online service manual to you. I will now answer for non DRL cars, no canada daylight running lamps malarkey. USA no DRL options, that love to fail DRL does. Not fog option, just heads./ yes, no fuses for one lamp the central timer module run them directly, this so called timer is BCM, the manual explains that. things to do: well test all lamp again LEft low beam , high beam, and flash highs./ if all 3 fails ground wire is open test all lamps inside and out to see if BCM fail in other ways if only lows fail lamp is bad or wire to it is shorted to car battery if only highs fail lamp is bad or wire shorted here. if not shorted the wire is open if you scan the PCM it will tell you Via BCM comms, the wire that is bad and why (open or shorted) at the last resort. reset the BCM by pulling its fuse (main) for 5minutes fuse 12 and fuse 3 is BCM power. or if brave pull battery neg lug for 5min. or more and not all brains are reset, but be warned , relearn mode happens to transmission and shifts rough for 1hr or less and radio stations lost memory of them only that you have set. there is no fuse called RIGHT OR LEFT HL

That loud pop is the vacuum door moving closed. These trucks were well known for issues with not having enough vacuum to operate the heat doors (especially while driving up a grade). An after-market vacuum pump is the way to go. Disconnect the vacuum hose from the engine and install an electric vacuum pump to run all the controls. While you are at it, hook the vacuum hose, that goes down to the transfer case (4X4) to the vacuum pump, also.

How can i tell if my crank shaft sensor is bad?

If the crank sensor fails it will probably stop the engine. I have known a diesel engine continue running with a failed crank sensor but it was virtually undriveable and sounded really rough. Pumping the loud pedal isn't likely to be very helpful whatever is wrong. Pedal pumping is for older cars with a carburettor that isn't in good order. The best help will be from a guy with a scanner...

It sounds like you have a wire or wire bundle pinched somewhere causing an open or a short. As you just replaced the valve cover gaskets, check very closely in all areas that you worked on for the routing and proper security of wires and bundles. Not that it makes any difference in your issue, but didn't the Dakota go to a 3.7L V6 in 2004 (as opposed to the 'old' 3.9L)?

Why is it missing fuse pins in relay section of fuse box?

It's normal to see pins missing. They deleted the relay for O2's just ran them on a fuse. And if you don't have a rear blower, you wouldn't need that relay. They also started putting the blower relays in the resistor.
