Car wiring diagram
I don't know how your vehicle is wired but the typical lighting circuit is similar to that used by many vehicles.
The wire you seek is the output to the headlight circuit from the main light switch - if it is a separate switch. It wouldn't be practical if combined with the dipswitch. A testlamp would easily identify the correct wire.
Installing an additional switch in that wire (a 3 terminal change over switch) would send the feed either to the plough lights relay or the headlamps, though it is possible the rear fog light(s) wouldn't be able to be used with the plough lights.
I suggest you don't try the same modification when you buy a later model computerised truck.
I used to get 23 mis gl now 10mi pgl
if you were getting 23 mpg, call Dodge, They still can't get a van to do it. 16 to 18 mpg would be tops. For that, start with plugs wires, cap, rotor, pcv (by the way Dodge tune-up kit from the parts department is way cheap. Really!!!) From there your looking at restricted exhaust, engine internal problems, O2 sensor laziness.
Hope this helps.
I have a 1996 dodge ram 2500, 5.2L, the oil light
Just to add, hope this helps with sensor location. The spec I saw was 30--80 psi oil pressure at 3000 rpms. In the old days they used to say for generic spec, 10 psi for every 1000 rpms. Always use the proper spec. You might be able to use analog pressure gage to screw in to replace sending unit to double check oil pressure. Just my opinion.
I keep blowing the iod fuse
I unplugged the light harness under the hood. No success. I took the radio out and looked at the wiring harness and found some exposed wires. I taped them and no success. I've tried to look over the wires and havnt really found anything wrong. It was alos suggested to me to remove the sensors in the door jams and see if this solves the problem? The IOD sensor is controlling my overhead dome lights, my radio, and my lights under the hood and my PCU port so I can't pull any codes from the computer. Any ideas would be awesome. I'm looking forward to this forum
