The focus has so many engine mounts and transmission mount failures. Check the trans mount under the aircleaner assembly for cracking and excess movement when placed in gear. I dont recall front mount but if theere is movement it is best to replace them all at the same time. The trans mount and right engine mount are the easiest to replace. But for forward and backwards movements and noises replace the front ( if applicable) and rear engine mounts.

It is spring loaded. Once they go bad, you have to replace it.

take it to an accredited service center for a proper diagnosis removing the spark plug lead will stop the knock if it is a bearing problem How to fix--- rebuild the engine or get a good unit from a wreckers

Did you check your oil level? Maybe your oil pump stopped working? I wouldn't drive the vehicle till you figure out the problem? I hope you don't have any internal engine damage?

it could be a alignment are ball joint or tie rod checkout these websites www.autozone.com and the other one is www.alldatadiy.com if all fails stop by discount tire or bell tire and have it checkout.

cheaper to replace the vehicle, trust me.

The noise is most likely timing chaine. I personally had a vehicle that jumped time by one tooth so it is possible it did jump time

That is normal till the engine an transmission reach operating temperature depending on your climate it may take as long as 20 minutes give or take. Hope this helped you -)
