Need to replace dist.cap1994 buick roadmaster 5.7
1st,pick out choice swear words! next, remove air filter, then there are two phillip head screws holding the cap on.( they are also a small hex about a 1/4 " or 5/16th.) if they haven't been removed in a long time , be careful not to break them off! I have found that a 1/4" drive with that flexable cable extention works best for the rear screw, which is the bad boy to get at. mark your wires if you don't know how to do the firing order.good luck Bill Russ

I am truly stumped!! Help!!! ???? It's not that difficult if you know how to test electrical circuit's using a wiring diagram an a DVOM - digital volt ohm meter .

Enter vehicle info. year , make , model . under system click on engine ,then under subsystem click on charging system . Click the search button ,then the blue link . Looking at the diagram on the left , i see the ignition switch ,the crank fuse in the I/P fuse box, the theft deterrent relay an the starter solenoid . Using a voltmeter or test light check for B+ voltage at the S terminal on the solenoid while someone tries to start the vehicle . If no light or B+ voltage ,back track to the relay , Test for B+ voltage at pin's 30 & 87 while cranking . If you pull the relay out of it's socket an look on the bottom or side you will see four set's of numbers 30 & 87 and 85 & 86 . You could just take a piece of wire ,heavy gage 12 . Jump 30 & 87 . If the heavy gage battery cable to the starter is good it should crank the engine .

I have a 1994 roadmaster,
Steve, go to buickforums.com. They have a roadmaster section with a lot of dedicated roadies, some are fanatics in their loyalty to those Buicks. I believe there are a good amount of sharp people on everything Roadmaster. They should know all the ins and outs of that code 84 and what to do about it. Joining is free to register.
Now personally, I don't think a reflash can be done on a '94 model, that is still OBD-1, but I cannot speak with certainty.
94 Buick Roadmaster cut off & won't start it turns over but won't start i replace optispark and ignition core star and fuel pump still kicking do you think you would be the camshaft position sensor
First you want to know if your ignition system is working, so have you checked for spark?
If the answer is no, go to a parts store and buy a calibrated spark tester, real simple and inexpensive. Hook it up to one of your spark plug wires, crank the engine over with the key (as if you were starting it) and see if you get a strong blue spark. You will need a helper to turn the key while you watch for spark on the tester. If you have good spark, you can assume the ignition system is working good, so that's not the problem, nor is the cam sensor a problem. If you have spark and still no start, it likely is a fueling problem- see if fuel pump is turning on, check injector circuit-things to do with the fuel.
If you find no spark when cranking, something in the ignition system is the problem. Not necessarily the cam sensor- that sensor is for the computer to synchronize fuel injector timing with the intake valves opening. For the computer to determine spark timing and advance, it uses the crankshaft position sensor. So that sensor is more tied with the ignition system, and is often at fault when spark is lost. Other things, too, like the ignition control module, but those are things to check when troubleshooting the ignition. A repair manual should have a troubleshooting flow chart, or at least some steps or procedure when troubleshooting the ignition. Good luck.
Were do i spray starter fluid to get my 1994 buick roadmaster started Lt1 motor
Into the throttle plate , Look at round black rubber tube from air filter box over to the engine ! Use a screw driver , loosen the clamp and pull the hose off the engine , where it fastens is call throttle body . Look inside you'll see a round disk or plate what ever you want to call it . Have someone step on the gas pedal and hold it down , you will see the plate open . This is where you spary the starter fluid ! After spraying some fluid in have the person holding the gas pedal down , release it . Then try to start the vehicle .

Passkey in 1994 buick roadmaster
There is a sensor in the key lock that reads the chip in your key.If the sensor fails or the chip fails the light will come on and the car should not start.
