check power and ground at the headlight socket for high and low. if you have power and ground there the headlight is no good. if not then you will have to trace back to find the problem, but first I would check the headlight switch after finding out if you don`t have power or ground.

Have you called the shop that rebuilt your trans? If it was ok before the re-build, then they have some free warrantee linkage adjusting to do for you, Vee!

the starter is on the passenger side underneath the car. 350 and 305 are the same ...should be enough room to remove around the exhaust....Good Luck...SMP

My guess would have been to check for a bad ground. Simple test is to use jumper cables from the battery neg (-) terminal to a good ground on the car body. Then try the key and see what happens.Next would be carefully cleaning each wire connection (I have used "contact cleaner" sprayed on every connection that I could find. I would spray a few places and then check the lights to see if they come on. When you hit a connection that works, and the lights come on, start it! That connection needs to be checked for tightness and should be cleaned with very find sand paper.Good luck!!Jim

Well the choke has an electric part that heats up and makes the choke open in a few minutes. As soon as the engine starts the choke should open about 25 percent by way of a vac pull-off. You can take the air cleaner off and watch the choke while someone starts the engine cold. If the choke does not open after it starts, check the choke pull-off. You can also open the choke with a screwdriver to see if the engine clears up.

Look Under the Trunk Matting At Driver side Look For the MAIN GROUND on the Rear Lights Harness, The GROUND WIRE IS EITHER Broken or Has a VERY POOR Connection , You May need to Replace the Connector ITSELF and NO Matter What you Find RELOCATE THE GROUND CoNNECTER HOLD DOWN BOLT to a Spot that YOU Preparer With GRINDING the Mating Surface where the Bole & GROUND WIRES Will Mount. Also Do NOT RULE OUT the JUNCTION PLUG In the SAME AREA Of the Harness Be DURE of >>CLEAN<< I am About 99% Sure of these Being your Problem,Given The Fact that I Have Seen this Literally Hundreds of times

Have you checked fuel pressure (put a gauge in-line with the fuel line - to measure fuel pump pressure).It sound like you have a bad fuel pump.

if it is a carb the fuel pump is on the engine and held on by 2 bolts, if it is fuel injection the pump will be in the gas tank and you will have to drop the tank to get it out.

The hard shifting is the result of your engine problem. Not sure whant kind of carbureter you have or wheather you have a distributor vacuum advance or not. It really sounds as though you have a base igntion timing probem. The distributor vacuum advance should be connected to manifold vacuum. Im assuming also that this is not a factory stock engine.

check the rear lights either its a bad earth or you have put a twin connection bulb into a single connection bulb holder or the other way around look at the bulb base and the the connection support socket to ensure you have the correct bulb in the socket

The first thing to check is the fuse. It should be roughly in the middle or lower left marked "inst panel". If the fuse is good check the tail lights. If they are out too you need a new headlight switch. Hope this helps.

do you mean it keeps running! that means that the timing is off. and this will also effect fuel milage. clean carb out if need be. good-day !!

Hey there. This could be a few different things. I would start with the E brake. the cable could be locking the rear brakes. Are the rear brakes disc or drum brakes? If they are disc the calipers are held on with two bolts but more than likely they are drum brakes. There are a number of things that can break in a drum brake. There is usually 3 seperate springs that can break. As well as an adjutment for the tension on the shoes. The e brake retaining clip, the retaining clip for the shoes,
etc. A good thing to go and get is a Repair Manual for the car. It will have a diagram of your brake setup. New hardwear and shoes are usually easy to get if somthing is broken.
Start by pulling off the tire and try to remove the drum, If they are locked up as bad as it sounds you will probly need to use some force. Now on some cars there will be two bolt holes, you can use rhem. You will need to find two bolts that fit the threads then you tighten them down evanly, this will press the drum off the cae so you can see what is binding up your rear brakes. That shoul get on the right track to getting it fixed. Any questions just ask. Have a good day.

Hey man the best thing i can think of would be to go and pickup the Repair Manual for your car it should have good info on the vacum setup.

Does the red Bat?gen light come on in the dash with key on engine off? If it doesn't then you need to replace the bulb in the dash if the alternator is good and both wires are connected make sure the plug in wire is not broken going into the plastic terminal and make sure the terminal is plugged in correctly.

it may be that there is no spark, if the distributer has points they need to be cleaned & reset.....cheers

this problem is the carburetor which probably has dirt in it plugging up the circuits or a stuck float and when you push on the gas pedal you are supplying fuel through the accelerator circuit.it can be rebuilt or you can buy a rebuilt carburetor,but note you don`t know how long a rebuilt carb has been sitting on the shelf there by it may have dried out gaskets and accelerator pump,and be in worse shape than you own carb.
