Strong gas smell inside of car
is there a leak in your fuel line, or possibly your fuel filter, if you see raw gas leaking, then it is dangerous for you tio continue to drive it, it only takes one spark to ignite it, however, if the smell is just your car burning rich and the exhaust has holes in it, it will smell up the inside of your car. And yes if your carb. is burning too rich then it needs adjusted. Wasting your fuel, and overloading your engine. I hope some of this was helpfull.
Chevrolet Malibu 2001 Transmission Flush or not
75,000 miles isnt alot of miles, unless they were mostly city miles. If you aren't experiencing any transmission problems,i would drop the pan, change the filter and whatever fluid the pan holds, and hold off on flushing the entire sytem. The clutches and bands sometimes don't do well when shocked with ALL new fluid that contains a certain amount of detergent. The only real problems i have seen with the total flush is on Dodge trucks of the 90's up to even 2000 and some later models, the transmissions use a governor pressure sensor, and solenoid, and i have seen many of them set codes after the flush, and the components having to be replaced with new.Black fluid isn't a good indicator.Brown fluid,is better than black. And red fluid is the best.
I have a 2005 malibu
The best thing to do is check double check it yourself. Run the car up to normal operating temp first. Pull the transmission dipstick, with the car running, and look at the fluid. Check the level while you are at it. The fluid should look pinkish and should smell like oil. If it is more brown than pink or smells burnt then it should be changed. It doesn't need to be flushed.
GM recommends changing it every 100,000 miles except under hard driving, so if you chang3d it a couple years ago you should be alright unless you notice something wrong when you checvk it yourself. ope this helps.
Where is the vacuum modulater
Vacuum modulator is most often located on the right side of the transmission (bell shaped item with a vacuum hose attached).
As said before. What i need is the fuse panel
Your best bet is to go to the library and find Motors Manual that covers your vehicle. Not the answer you necessarily wanted. This is a relatively quick and easy way to get the information you wanted ... considering you ar not sure the year of the vehicle.

83 chevy malibu with a 305 engine wont start after
recheck everything again. check for spark. if no spark, then your distributor is not getting power(12v). if you have spark, then check for fuel pressure. spray starting fluid in the carburator and see if it starts. if it does then your not getting fuel. if you have both then take out the distributor, put your #1 piston at TDC on the compression stroke and reinstall your distributor and try again, your timing may be off. Good luck.
Got rearend tore apart using richmond ring gear
your biggest interests are the dial indicator set up of the ring and pinion gears (and a foot print using grease on the gears to see the proper gear mesh) they must be right or the rear can whine/lockup/prematurely wear out... get a manual on this ...may be free at the libraries tech manuals...also when you are putting in the new crush collar be sure to have the vehicle jacked up high enough to put a big leveraged pipe handle on the foot pounds torque wrench....very critical ....consult the rear distributor on the specs for this beauty!!
Car died and will not start.
there should be a ground wire going from battery neg. terminal to the body not just the engine check to see if wire there and just broke or bad connection
