Where is the neutral safety switch on a2004 chevy Malibu, 3.5 L engine
The transmission range (TR) switch is part of the park/neutral position (PNP) and back-up lamp switch assembly (1), which is externally mounted on the transmission manual shaft. The TR switch contains four internal switches that indicate the transmission gear range selector lever position. The PCM supplies ignition voltage to each switch circuit. By grounding one or more of the switch circuits, the PCM detects the selected gear range by the state change of the switch input. Refer to Transmission Range Switch Logic . Switch input to the PCM is represented on the scan tool as HI and LOW. HI indicates an ignition voltage signal. LOW indicates a zero voltage signal. The four parameters represent transmission range switch signal A,B,C and Parity.

2004 Malibu panel shows check gas cap
Check for applicable trouble codes, see if anything related to evap system? Your emissions system probably pulls a small vacuum on the gas tank and evap system to check for leaks, If it doesn't pass the test, you will get an evap code or gas cap lite? The place that replaced exhaust system can they check for trouble codes? Anything?
To check for codes, yourself, at the least, you need an obd 2 code reader.
I don't know if exhaust repair caused a problem or just coincidence?
My horn doesn't work but it sounds of for the alarm
Note the diagram.
If you use a jumper wire on load side of horn relay, with relay unplugged, the horn should sound. If it does, problem is on the control side of relay.
The load side of relay is that line with the arrow head. When the relay is energized, that line with arrow head, moves to other terminal and sends voltage to horn assembly.
How to change knock sensor on 2004 Malibu v6
Why do you need to change the knock sensor? Just because there is a code for it doesn't mean it's bad. Does the vehicle run bad? Tune up or fuel filter can cause the code to set for the knock sensor. It listens for knocking so the pcm can shut the car down. Those very rarely go bad unless it has been soaking in coolant leak.
