2000 Chevrolet Silverado stopped running on highway, would not restart. Had it picked up the next day, after charging battery, started back up. Drove it 15 miles stopped again, would not restart. Star

Died on freeway and would not restart ? When you turned the key what happened ? Did the starter engage and spin the engine ? Or nothing happened . Why did you charge the battery ? Did you drain it trying to start it or it drained when driving the vehicle an it killed it ? Before replacing parts did you have it diagnosed or did you just replace parts ? 048 Engine Hard to Start or No Start Scan Data for Starting Problems If you don't know how to test ,your best bet find someone like this .

02 Chevy Express Van, no acceration when i throttle the gas pedal

I need to know your vin? I looked at online partsbook for your year--make--model and engine size, I looked up fuel injector, It showed the spider fuel system. That fuel system is noted for problems. At key on engine off, fuel pressure for that system is 60--66 psi. Once it is running it will run with less pressure. You may need to check fuel pressure, key on engine off--idling and under load. That fuel pressure sounds low to me? I need more info about your fuel system?

Problem with turn signal when headlight is on

this sounds like a earthing problem , so check the wiring for the head lights, see if any wires are trapped between something, bare wire touching car body , anythingthat doesn't look correct, could also be the indicator lever itself with a problem , but check the headlight wiring first

I have a 2002 Chevrolet express with 5.7 engine that loses power up hill and engine starts clattering.

You need to find another mechanic that knows ignition problems, I have never not fixed a misfiring engine that I was assigned to fix, that is a 35 year career. If you read the fault codes you will know which engine cylinder(s) is misfiring, from there it is easy. Any Autozone or other parts store will read the fault codes for free, just ask for a OBD2 fault code test. I would replace the spark plug wires, when you do it make sure the cables are routed as from the factory and that all the plug wires are placed in the plastic loom holders, failure to do this will cause a misfire in a very short time. You can buy all the parts including the looms here for a much better price than local stores. www.rockauto.com

How do I check the switch on the side of the transmission for the backup lights. only getting 3 volts to both lights. fuse is good wire harness is good.

If the switch is not to difficult to remove you can remove the switch and hook a meter to it and check for continuity by depressing the switch. This will let know if the switch is good or bad. What kind of voltage does it say you should have at the back up lights

Pick-up coil

2002 express doesn't have a pickup coil - it has a camshaft sensor in the distributor, the crankshaft sensor is located in the lower corner of the front cover. Crank sensor is straight forward to replace, the Cam sensor you remove the dist cap and rotor - spin motor over until notch in the shaft lines up with cam sensor, remove bolts and slide up.

Hi, I need help with my 2002 chevy express 1500.

I wouldn't give up on it, but I would sure be P.O.ed at the mechanic- $700 for a bad diagnosis. Why would he think 3 injectors were leaking? Was it running rich? Did he do a scan for trouble codes? Did he check fuel pressure?Probably something minor-anything now should be minor after $700. Well, at least you got new fuel injectors. Have some tests done, scan for codes, check fuel pressure. Carefully clean the MAF sensor with maf cleaner spray, or at least a sensor safe spray cleaner. It is delicate, so use care. Let it dry thoroughly before putting back on. About all I can think of, good luck.
