How do I fit air horns to my car

They usually come with detailed wiring instructions inside the packaging, from the store. Not at all too hard to install.

The primary hood latch for

My '02 astro van hood latch used to stick shut also. I was able to open it by having a friend operate the pull handle under the dash while I picked up on the hood. After I got it open I used some cleaner to degrease the latch mechanism and lubed it all with a good penetrating oil. It's worked like new ever since. I suspect I'll have to relube it every once and a while just to keep it working like new, after all it's a moving mechanical part.

I have a 1996 Chevy

Find the biggest fuse in the panel probably a 30amp that goes to something that you don't need to use right away. Use it for the ecm fuse. If the 30 amp fuse blows, you need to disconnect the ecm and reconnect to see if that makes any difference. Sounds like a short, but it could be in the harness or inside the ecm. If the 30 amp fuse holds, get to the nearest parts store and buy a supply of 30 amp fuses. 40 amp if they have them. Maybe that will get you home without having to call a tow truck.

Fault code p0304

P0304 indicates you have a misfire on cylinder #4 which is located on the passenger side in between #2and #6. (middle spark plug) Inspect the spark plug and the wire, if both are good. There may be a good chance that the fuel injector poppet nozzle is dirty with carbon and will need to be cleaned with a fuel injector poppet nozzle cleaner.

Thank you for using Fixya and keep us posted.

Heater Core in a 1998

Start by double checking the coolant level. If this is good then, what I know of the way these things are made, purchase a chemical flush (from any auto parts store = $10 and add it to the system with the heat on high in the cabin. This will also help flush out any air bubbles. Drain and reill with good, clean coolant and distilled water (less minerals and contaminants which plug radiator cores). Do you notice the any fans coming on when the A/C is applied? If so... great! The very next to do is whilst the engine is running, wrap a rag around your hand, grab the fan in the front of the motor. Now don't worry, you will not get your fingers chopped off! Just make sure your rag doesn't get caught in any belt. If the fan stop right away and there is no felt resistance, IT IS FAULTY!! It must be replaced. Very and an inexpensive repair. This the responsible for engaging the fan blades the pull more air into the engine area via the radiator. Common fix. These do wear out!! Let me know if you need to change the fan clutch.

1998 Chevy Astro: HVAC

Carefully identify the vacuum line(s) attached to the intake manifold to look for a leak.Your problem is located where the rubber air inlet meets the engine throttle body. Look under this rubber inlet and you will find a black plastic vacuum line. It has a hole in it or is just falling apart. Replace this line from the intake manifold to the tee up by the A/C accumulator/dryer.
--------------------- If the fan motor works but the location of the airflow can not be changed, the blend door motors or vacuum solenoids must be checked for operation. Pull the glove compartment box out and the motors or solenoids will be visible. With the engine running, move the controls and watch for them to move. If they fail to swing the arm for the doors to open, check to see if they are getting power or vacuum. For power check with the circuit tester, and for vacuum simply pull the line off and check for vacuum problems. If there is no power and the fuses are good, then the control unit on the dash is bad. If there is no vacuum, check the vacuum source--a small vacuum line running through the firewall to the engine manifold or into the power brake vacuum booster.------------ The HVAC splitter operates on vacuum. The vacuum line from the intake manifold to the solenoid that operates the air diverters must be loose, cracked or kinked. You should be able to find the line from the front of the vehicle with the hood raised. It's a 1/8" black plastic line that travels from the intake manifold on the drivers side up forward to where the a/c unit is located. --------

Thanks. Keep updated for any more query. You can rate this solution and show your appreciation

Throttle body sensor

Not for one cyl misfire. Not tobe hurtfull but if you can not afford a mechanic how can you afford gas, insurance etc. Get real here. The money issues are you r problem. You didn't like what was probably free and helpfull advice from a repair shop. You can replace the TPS but you need to put a volt meter or scope on it to confirm an issue. Don't throw parts at it until you understand the system your working on and its sensors etc. Everyone needs to find a good repair shop before you need one. Just like we all have a good doctor. don't drive all your vehicles until you only do break down repairs.

How do I get my rear hatch open on my 1998 Chevy

From the handle outside and if that is broken you must remove the trim
panel on the rear door (pass side),then remove the metal trim panel under that. You will then be able to see the latch and should be able to get ahold of the linkage to open it!
