1998 Astro code P0102 low
Try cleaning the TPS and IAC( idle air control) valve .also clean the throttle body with throttle cleaner. Then see, if that is helping. If not then MAF needs to be replaced, as the error code is triggering towards the MAF.--------
The IAC valve is screwed in to the side of the throttle housing (where the gas pedal hooks up to the engine). You'll need to remove the interior engine cover(dog house).Torx screws for the covers, 2 bolts on floor. and bolts against the fire wall (You can use a long extension with a swivel socket at the end).-----------
This will help.Thanks.Helpmech.

The first thing you need to check is fuel pressure. This type of fuel system requires a minimum fuel pressure of 56 psi to start. Anything less, even as little as 1psi. And it will not start. It starts and runs when you add the starting fluid because the poppets (the mechanical injectors located at each cylinders intake runner) require less fuel pressure to operate when the intake is under vacuum. This is a classic symptom of low fuel pressure. A new fuel pump is the typical fix for this problem. Don't skimp on quality if you do need a new fuel pump. They are not all the same. Hi there avalanche426, I am sorry to hear your dilemma. What it sounds like has happened is your Astro's front differential has leaked enough fluid to prevent it from doing its job. Try filling the differential to where it needs to be and see if it starts to work again. If it does drain the fluid and replace the gasket the is leaking then refill. If it still doesn't work after filling it back up it will be because too much damage has occured.

if there is a recall on your van all you have to do is go to a dealer and have them check to see if it qualifies for the recall.they check your vin # in their computer system that connects to GM and they can tell this,if your not sure if what they tell is true then go to another dealer.

Most possible as you have confirmed the status of the actuator to be working and that there is no +12 volt to the window unit ,is a BREAK or OPEN wire int he harness to the door.
This could have snapped at the hinges or there is damage to the harness. A good visual check on this to back trace must get you to the problem.
To confirm that there is a break you can find out the + 12 to the independent circuit on the door. Make sure that an external link with the +12 will get the door lock to work.
This will confirm our theory of an open connection.
Tip: you can remove the other door to get the circuit voltage details , make a detailed marking and compare.

P0100 is mass airflow circuit, p0300 is multiple cylinder misfire. Faulty maf sensor is most likely the cause of the misfires.
Drove the van to work
Usually it is the ignition control module located in the distributor. Check to see if you have spark, if not that is likely it. If you have spark, check for fuel pressure.
Hope this helps.
Lots of heat on passenger side of 1998 Astro
Unfortunately this is a know design issue with the Astro. If you lookup recall and service information, you will find dealer notes and instructions about the issue.
Sorry I could not provide better news.
