93 getrag 5 speed had

a chevy uses Getrag? manual transmission. yes Borg-Warner T5, the Getrag, Muncie or New Venture models HM290, 5LM60 and NV3500 and the New Venture NV4500. The NV4500 appeared on 1992 full-sized trucks only G360? 4x4 is lots of work, pulling the transfer case. my guess is you did and UN-jammed forks and shift rails already. top loader boxes are bliss. and is the top must come off and most trucks have no huge floor pan plate to do that. some guys gen one up from scratch. 1993 Chevy 1500 4x4 5.7, abruptly quit running going down the road. no hesitation or cough, just died like you flipped a switch. popped the hood and found that the vacuum line that runs from the vacuu

A small vacuum line leak would not kill the engine while running, nor prevent it from starting. Unless the "pod" sent the vacuum signal to a critical part, but I cannot think what that would be. At any rate you should fix that with a different hose. Any vacuum line or hose would work good, doesn't have to be the hard plastic like yours, just as long as it fits snugly at both ends and doesn't leak.Stopping quick like that sounds like the ignition system abruptly quit. Buy a cheap spark tester and check for a blue, snapping spark on a spark plug wire or two. You would not have to use the tester to check, but it prevents the possibility of getting shocked by holding the wire end close to metal, or ground. If spark is not strong and blue, suspect an ignition failure, possibly the ignition control module; or the crank position sensor or pickup coil-whichever one your truck has.If spark is good, check fuel pressure for a possible fuel pump failure.Good luck. Post back with what you find.

Does a 1993 chevy k1500 have a crankshaft sensor?

The sensor is located on the front of the truck. To find it, crawl under the truck to see the crankshaft sensor behind the harmonic balancer on the passenger side under the timing chain cover.

1993 c1500 injectors not spraying why?

Check the crank position sensor and the cam position sensors. When these go, they go without warning. Check for continuity across the connectors, should be less than 100 ohms.

93" k1500 suburban- ignition key

I just saw your newer post..or the original post with more information available. Your K1500 has the ignition switch positioned on the steering column. The switch is control via a linkage rod that is actuated from the key cylinder.(which may have failed.) But I suspect your problems may be in the switch itself. See the procedure here at Just Answer Chevy to remove and install a new switch: Fix Your Chevy With Your Own Hand PS: After removing the actuator rod see if the lock cylinder rotates freely...if it does the switch is the source of your problem.

Yes, it can be the relay. What I do is unplug the relay and swap it gor yhe horn relay. If this doesn't work, I use a volt/ohmmeter to probe the relay socket. Doing this, I can usually find the problem. With the key on , there should be two terminals in the socket that have battery voltage and one that is grounded. The last terminal goes to the pump and should show low ohms to ground. In your truck, the relay coil is connected to ground and turned on by the ecm with a positive signal. It also seems to depend on the oil pressure switch, so you might want to temporarily bypass the switch with a paper clip in the connector to see if that is keeeping the pump from running. 0996b43f80231a23-jnh1p0frnkt3q2fbcpfimq4v-4-0.gif
