Pump works when i run
No likely the wireing is the problem chevy had a problem with that they didn't use reisitance wire to the fuel pump on many vehicles in the late 90s and erely 2000 it should have ben a recall i think. The wire would overheat there is a service bulliten on it . The new pumps come with a pig tail and differant connector that fits the new pump connection . There is no shut off but the system or at least a lot of them run on a split curicut powered by fuse #9 witch goes to the relay but also goes through the oil pressure sending unit . The idea being if the relay goes while drivering then the pump will still get power through the oil unit its a safty issue that dosn't make a lot of sence to me . But if you can hot wire the pump and it still works and your not haveing trobule with the sending unit like long hard cranking starts it needs to build up oil pruessure to send voltage then change the fuel filter and run a hot wire to the fuel pump and splice it in and it will vary likely work but there are other issues like fuel lines and fuel tanks that rust out the whole dam system tends to rust so cheak it over good

Trying to find fuel pump
Trying to find?
Best Way?
Almost all fuel pumps are in the fuel tank
You have no choice but to remove the tank,
then remove the pump from the top.
A'm I missing the question?

Replaced a distributor cap on
Aside from making the engine run poorly, what you did should not have damaged anything. In being one tower off, you changed the engine timing. Timing can change the amount of heat in a cylinder.
If there was a problem before you did that, such as a failing head gasket, you may have pushed it into complete failure. What you are seeing may not be oil but condensation in the exhaust mixed with carbon residue from the inside of the pipe.
You didn't mention why you replaced the cap, or, if the engine now has any problems while it's running. if it's missing, first thing I'd do is remove the plugs and see if any have wet or burned on oil residue. If you find that, take a compression test and go from there..
My heater is not blowing
The blower circuits need to be tested. Check for power at the blower motor. (This is easy to do with a simple test light.) If there is power there, replace your blower motor. If there is no power there, the problem is most likely the blower motor resistor.
