1985 Pontiac Fiero - Answered Questions & Fixed issues
Where is the neutral starter safety switch located in 88 fiero
Assuming that it's an automatic. the neutral safety switch is mounted to the top of the transmission.
on a stock Fiero, if you look down into the engine bay, on the driver's side, it's right on top. You can identify it by the row of wires coming out of it.

Location of oil filter 1985 Fiero GT 6 cyl
If you're finding it difficult to service/repair your car, get one of those online manuals. You'll not have to wait for others to answer, or rely on mechanics and all. Plus I know a website that has very good manuals online, without expiry
i.e. for lifetime.

How to remove the hood on A pontiac fiero
Found this info.
Use a magic marker or something, mark around all the hinges before taking anything loose so you can get them back in the same place. Use two people, one on each side of the hood.

How do u bleed a hadralic clutch on 85 Fiero
this is done the same way as bleeding the brakes. make sure the clutch cylinder does not run out of brake fluid. the pedal should feel firm all the way through its travel and not soft.

My gauges dont work on my 85 fiero, how do I fix that?
Sadly your car is very old. But the good news is scap yards keep so man parts off any type of old cars .. Check with a mechanic first for the problem first make sure what it is !! and then if it needs changing call around. Could be a wire problem to the fuse could be anything check it out first.

Why my fiero wont run
The injectors need to be tested for pulses between the two wires (not to ground or +12) with the engine turning. With it still, you will get almost the same reading (only noticeable if you use a meer) from both wires since the injector has a coil of wire between the two terminals. The electronics may float between ground or +12 on the wires depending if they are powered up or not.
Do you have the appropriate pressure at the fuel rail? A V6 takes a lot more pressure than the 4 cylinder cars.

Where is the IAT sensor located on a 1985 Pontiac
If you mean Idle Air Control, it's on the throttle body below the throttle position sensor. I think it's a deep, 28mm socket that fits over it, or you can use a big adjustable pliers or wrench. Read the instructions on the new one. Don't loose the pintle! Don't turn the ignition on with the IAC hooked up but not in place. The pintle will go flying out.

86 2.5 4cyl. won't run
I think you should probably rebuild the throttle body if you have not. Over time, some serious **** can build up in the body and also, the gaskets can shrink due to age which can cause fuel blockages in the body its self.

Yes Hi my problem is that I can't find any site for a diagram wiring harness
I had a problem with backfiring and what I found was my oxygen sensor had the wire pulld out. Being there was really no room to work I just spliced a new good wire on it and shoved the wire down in the sensor. It helpd a lot. But use a good wire. "Not speaker wire" because of the heat from the maniflod

I got in an accident and now the car won't start. is there a fuel safety reset switch somewhere?
Ok neither one have you have owned a fiero, there is no fuse box under either hood, and the ecm is in the center console! The fuel pump is run by the ecm and the fuel pressure switch to check the fuel pump apply 12 volts to the aldl connector inside your center console. all you have to do is take the little black cover off of the console where the cigar lighter is at. There are only 4 wires its the one that is farthest away from all the others. If you hear the fuel pump turn on then the fuel pressure switch is probably the culprit. I would get some schematics and check wires though. Odds are since it was in an accident there are probably some screwed up wires.

Brake lights not working on 1985 fiero
You would check for power in and out of the switch. No power to the switch would be checked at the fuse. If you have power in and out of the brake switch you would follow it to the turn signal switch if that bulb handles both circuits.
