2000 Ford Taurus AC compressor not working;
the compressor doesn't have to be working for the gas to go in
you connect the gas to the inlet line and as the gas pressure in the system rises , the ac compressor will cut in normally and suck in the rest until the pressures are correct
of course you have to be putting in the correct gas because the switches are different
I have no Heat in my 2000 Ford Taurus!
If the heater core bypass refers to the water flow to the heater core, I would wonder why you did not flush the heater core as part of the system. You can drain water from engine, disconnect heater hoses and add a short hose to the heater and force a garden hose to flush the core.
I have not looked up the particulars for which heater system is on your car. Some just use duct-work to close off air flow through the heater core and the heater core always has hot water in it. Others will use a valve to shut off the water flow through the heater core and they can be either electric or vacuum operated. Combination systems are the third system which controls water flow and duct air flow at the same time.
Some of the Premium Climate control systems with Electronic displays have a computer diagnostic system which self-diagnoses problems but you need the sequence codes and explanation of where the bad part is located.
Shakes and dies when RPM goes below 1
intake idler unit needs cleaning unit is on the side of the intake not the one that controls throttle the other one. remove and clean out. or spray carb cleaner in to clean out. also clean the connectors on the wiring. should be fine after that, if not you will need to remove it and give it really good clean out.
2002 Taurus broken antenna and door open/ajar indictor light
Can't help with the antenna. As far as the door ajar goes any of the cars doors can cause this, it is a ting switch that is twist locked into the door latch that fails and gives the warning, it is referred to as the "door ajar switch" You need to have a scan tool hooked up to see which door is causing the problem, as I said any of the four switches can be faulty. Since all the door panels would likely need to come off to find the bad part the scan is the best route.
