there is a overrunning clutch on the front of these alternators that can get noisy..a replacement alternator is best bet to correct condition..make sure you check all items driven by drive belt.

Get under the vehicle & remove the rusted or broken part & replace it with new one. You do realize we have no idea what your referring to? Nothing called a muffler strap You didn't say if you have vehicle repair experience

these are known for bad power relay boxes due to corrosion. it is located under the hood on the drivers side. the wiring under the power relay box gets corroded and the only correct repair is to replace the box unit.

Alternator or batter could be starting to go bad, but on the verge of ok to not. Could also be corroded battery terminals.

Yes a bad thermostat can cause and engine to get hot or overheat. That would be a good place to start. The thermostat is located in the housing where the upper radiator hose attaches to the engine. Make sure you replace the gasket also.
