1993 Chevrolet Cavalier - Page 8 Questions & Answers
93' cavalier, very rough running. Missing badly
Yes it is fuel injected. If it runs but has no power there is a good chance that an ignition coil went bad and there would be no spark to two cylinders. Cylinders 1 and 4 are partners on the same coil and 2 and 3 are partners. Usually these cars if an injector goes bad they have an external leak.
You can try to listen to them by holding a screw driver to each on while its running but I don't think
that will be your problem anyway.Another giveaway for the coil could be a gas smell like it is partially flooded. When you changed the plugs were any of them wet with fuel ? There is also a chance that if the engine works ok at highway speeds that the egr valve is stuck open. This causes
rough running at idle and bad hesitation until highway speed is achieved. Hope this helps or let me know and we'll figure it out.

There are several methods you can use.
Go to your local library and look for a Chilton Auto Manual for your particular model, the Chilton will have the routing diagram.
Go to your local parts store, such as Advance, etc. and look at their display of Chilton Manuals, also ask one of the salespersons to look it up on their computer, they have diagrams of their parts.
Check under the hood as most GM cars have a diagram afixed to a decal on top of the radiator.

Hello recco.
When coolant appears inside the car you have a leaking heater core.
Unless you are a really handy guy it is best left for an experienced mechanic.
If you feel you have enough tools and know how leave me a message here and I will get you the instructions.

If you feel it starting to die - toss it into neutral before coming to a full stop.
If it then keeps running, your TCC solenoid is locking up (common problem on all TH125C trannies). As a quick fix, pop the hood and disconnect the square green 4 pin connector going into the tranny. No more lockup over 50km/h, but no more stalling.
Where is the fuel filter on a 1993 chevy cavalier
It should be on the side where the gas tank is running along the fram of the car. You should see a small stanless steel or copper line running along the fram under the car near the rear of the car. Follow it until you see the filter.
I put new spark plugs in along with new wires. i
There's a difference if it turns over, but doesn't start, or if it doesn't turn over at all. If it does not turn over at all, the problem may be as simple as the battery not properly connected, or up to the starter needing replacement. If it does turn, or rotate when you crank it, but it doesn't run, then you may want to re-check the correct connection of the wires, meaning connected in the right sequence. If you verify that they are in fact connected properly, then you may want to check to make sure they have spark. you can do this by taking one of the wires off 1 spark plug, inserting a screwdriver in it, then, as a friend tries to start the car, you bring the screwdriver close to a metal part. if you see a spark, then the problem may be fuel related.
Chevy Transmission Diagram
I have a 1998 olds Regency frt whl drive auto trans. Do not know the trans ref like 460 e? or what.
Any how have had a frt growl, vib @ 65 mph, up and down ride at 10mph. New balanced tires replaced lh whl bearing by guess mechanic said th whl brg was ok.
Latest Son checked the drive axles for movement--there is up and dn movement @ shaft into trans end --lh & Rh side also clunkie noise. Trans seal not leaking, yet.
I suspect brgs or a bushing in trans end as it accepts the drive axle. If it the problem is it replaceable after axle removeable??

If you've been using your air conditioner during this time, and it hasn't rained at all, then the small drain at the bottom of the a/c evaporator core may be plugged. When you use the a/c to cool the car the evaporator coil [located next to the heater core in the ductwork under the dash] is very cold and moisture from the hot humid air condenses on it as a result. This condensation dribbles down the core and accumulates in the plastic housing under it where it should then drain out a small hole and drip onto the ground. If the small drain gets plugged, which happens quite often, then the water fills up the housing until it overflows and then runs out and soaks the carpet on the front passenger side. The drain is located on the engine side of the firewall, passenger side, down low where the firewall begins to curve under. Usually a puff of air will clear the clog and the drain will work fine again. If the carpet is really wet it would be a good idea to remove it and get everything dry again as it tends to get pretty smelly if left wet. One last note: usually a leaky a/c unit will only make the passenger side carpet wet unless it's been leaking for a long time while a leaky windshield seal can make both sides wet depending on where it is leaking. Good luck, hope this helps you out!
