2004 Ford Mustang Questions & Answers
2004 Mustang. I locked my keys in my car &
I have 2 thoughts. One odd thing I found several people found that there steering wheel was not locked(you could turn it side to side) they turned wheel till it locked in position and it solved the problem with anti thief and the car cranked. The other thing I had the same problem with my 06 cobalt. The magnet in the key was bad/weak. If you have a good less used key try it in the car. It worked for me and I went to dealer and had a factory original key made for my wife to use. She drove the car all the time. Her key gave the alarm and mine was fine. The new key for 06 was 35 dollars but the price depends on your car. My 13 Chrysler cost 200 dollars.

Will not start theft light flashing?
Sometimes a weak battery will trigger the antitheft system.. disconnect the battery and make sure it is charged and then reconnect and see if it works.

Why won't it start?
since the radio is resetting, i would first check the battery terminals. the radio has to power inputs, so if its resetting then your losing both at the same time. one wire more or less comes directly from battery, its the memory wire to get a presets and times.

Could anti-theft system d mustang cause car to shut off while driving?
Hi, im a retired ford tech, with alot of experience on ford anti theft . Now if you are asking about a built in oem factory anti theft, your not going to be able to bypass it. Now to answer your question, I would say your factory anti theft IS NOT causing your issue. It will make it unable to start,it doesnt kill anything else.

How do I deactivate alarm
I thought the dealer had to reprogram the anti-theft processor.
Be careful with this since it may cause your car not to start.
Hope this helps.

What is causing both front brakes to lock up
check master cylinder not releasing the brakes. the brake flex hose for each wheel may have collapsed internally. the way to find out is when the brakes don`t release loosen the bleeder screw on the brake caliper if brake fluid squirts out or runs out and the brakes release then the flex hose has collapsed. if the brakes don`t release and no fluid squirts out then the calipers are seized and need replacing. the shuddering is an indication the brake rotors are probably warped and need replacing.

What would cause both front brakes to lock up?
sticking disk brakes are caused by rust that forms on piston ,and brake drags and heats up making it tighter and tighter till finnaly no movement is allowed, till it cools off
the awnser to this is to use a Non factory (aftermarket) caliper( bembo) with a non steel piston and cross drilled rotors or don't let your steel calipers rust by keeping car in heated/ dry garage !
