2003 Ford Escape Questions & Answers
Driving
The problem original would have been the battery failure but if you had the jump start done incorrectly then the resultant power surge may have knocked out the cpu unit and that is why nothing works properly. Try having the cpu reset by a fault code reader and keep your fingers crossed. You may be lucky
Right-Front Intermediate Axle Shaft Bearing
I am assuming this is an all wheel drive. That being the case you probably have an axle CV joint going out. If you hear noise when making a sharp left or right turn and accelerating that would more than likely be the problem. And, yes this is a serviceable part. Easy to replace if you have the proper tools to accomplish the task. Good luck.
Battery light comes on and stays on...
I was just reading on another forum about the Ford Escape Battery lights staying on. They said it was the overflow reservoir being low. My 2003 Ford Escape XLS battery light has been on for 6 months. I went to autozone last Wednesday and they said my battery was bad. I got it replaced yesterday. Battery light still on.
So tonight after I read the other forum, I figured it would be worth checkng. My reservoir was about 1/2 inch below the full line. I filed it about 1/4 inch above the full line.....lo and behold, the battery light went off when I started the car. How freakin stupid. But there is your answer.
Drivers seat will not move forward

Ford Escape 2003. Engine suddenly overheat.
Engine over heating can be caused by a number of things. When you say the water pump and radiator appear to be ok I am also guessing that you checked the coolant level to make sure it is normal.
If the level is low then you obviously have a leak. Insufficient coolant circulating will not cool the motor properly because it won't be able to draw enough heat out. If the level is normal then you need to check the thermostat to make sure it is opening properly. To do this, run the motor to temperature and check the top and bottom hoses. They should both be hot and firrm once the thermostat opens meaning the circulation loop is operating properly. If the top is hot and firm and the bottom is cold/soft or collapsed then the thermostat isn't opening.
If the thermostat is operating properly then you ned to look for some other obstruction or cause for coolant loss. Check the head/intake gaskets, hose connections, hoses, over flow tank, radiator fins, radiator side tanks etc..
Good luck.
Driveshaft vibrates
it will rotate the slip joint that on the drive shaft into transmission only slides in and to allow ear suspension to work without breaking driveshaft. I would remove driveshaft and inspect front joint. it it does not flex sided to side and up and down, then it is bad. replace and be very careful when pressing in cup that the bearings don't fall out.
Replace air bags on 2003 Ford escape
You will probably need to change the air bags, diagnostic module, and possibly the seat belt pre-tentioners. And any impact sensors that might have received damage.
2003 ford escape bank 1senser2 where is it
Bank 1 holds the #1 spark plug. Senor #2 is ALWAYS after the catalytic converter. So B1S2 would be the sensor after the converter that services bank 1. since you didn't list which engine you have, we have no idea which side it's on.
Headlight went out in 2003 ford escape i have
you have to remove the whole headlight assembly, then pop off the front cover pull the old bulb out and put the new one in. reverse the process to re-install. there is a small plastic tab on the topfront of the headlight assembly, that is what you need to release to get the clear cover off and get inside.
