My car is a 2002
Check your transmission fluid level on the transmission dip stick while the engine is running. When fluid is low it results in a snatching at gears especially when engaging 'drive'. Add the correct fluid (check with VW on the correct type for your specific car) via the dip stick tube. Do not fill beyond the maximum. If you do not correct this the constant snatching will eventually cause the splined end of the input shaft to shear off and this will be an expensive repair.
Where do i fill transmission fluid on 2002 volkswagen passat
No fluids are consumed in any vehicleThinking something you know nothing about& the real issues, should be addressed at a repairshop or trans shopIf it is low on trans fluid, then most likelythe damage is done already, based on yourdescription. If it is low, then at the very least, you repair the leak, not just add fluid
I lost the keys to my 2002 VWPASSAT anyone know
go to the rear of the ignition switch you have to look up from under the drivers foot well ,pull off the plug now you see the electrical part of the ignition switch remove the two screws holding it on to the rear of your ignition switch ,lift it off now put the wiring plug into your electrical part of your ignition switch turn that to start the car.now you can start it.the trouble is your steering lock is still on .so now look with care at your ignition ,you should see a pin holding the barrel on .push in the pin to remove the barrel so now you can drive the car.go to a car breakers and get a barrel and key.
2002 Volkswagen passat 6 cyl replace thermostat
This is a time consuming process, that should not be done, unless you are sure of your mechanical skills, the thermostat is behind the timing belt (why VW ever did that I do not know). You will have to remove the front bumper, and put the front of vehicle into what is called service position, meaning the front end of the car, radiator and mounting moves forward a few inches. It sounds complicated but its not really to bad.
Then you will need to removed the serpentine belt and power steering pulley. Remove timing belt covers. Then either removed the top portion of timing belt and then remove thermostat housing, or if you are really patient, you can try to squeeze the thermostat out from behind, but it is not easy at all.
All in all, this job for a DIY is probably around 5-8 hours of work and I would not attempt unless you have done something like this before.
Fix power window on 2002 passat
that sound is the wire that roles up your window it is the window regulator. not a real hard job but might want to go to a shop. if not you will need to pull the door panel off the door latch itself to get to its really not that easy.if interested i can walk you thru it you will need to get a window clip repair kit for the drivers side get that from dealership. you will have to remove the window regulator make sure the window is held up in the track when you pull out the regulator. remove the regulator the you will need a torx 30 bit to remove the motor once you remove that instal the new cable this is where it get fun. get the wires ran to the four points on the regulator. then pull on the clips to lock the cable in there grooves then put back together and lock the window back into the clips thats it any questions just respond will try to help.
