2001 Pontiac Sunfire 5 days ago car started jerking ( it felt like I was driving a standard shift car) it does this alot when I accelerate or turn corners. it also makes a very loud noise when in park

Sounds like the torque converter lockup is having issues im not certain on that model but the older ones had a plug down in the front square with four wires i believe you can unplug and it will work fine

The timing belt/chain could have jumped a 'tooth'.Did this 'new' behavior start all-of-a-sudden, or did it slowly get worse??Dean

How to I jump start my starter

Hook a cable to the large post from a positive 12 volt source, then attach the ground cable to the body of the starter and then touch 12 volts positive to the post marked "S" where the purple wire was connected, this will engage the starter.

High beam headlights quit working. Bulbs are OK.

If your getting power at the headlight wire harness, then it's going to be the bulb it self, but make sure your checking the right 12 volt terminal at the plug. There should be three terminals there, there is a ground, 12 volt low beam, and a 12 volt high beam. If both the low and high 12 volts are getting power, then it's going to be the head light bulb it self that has reached the end of it's life time since the day time running lights are always on which is the high beams. Good luck and check the fuse box under the hood by the battery.

Changed filter

I would assume the fuel pump has failed. Get a fuel pressure test gaulge and check the pressure at the fuel supply rail near the injectors.

No gas getting to filter,,, car has been running fine

Change the fuel pump or make sure the fuel safety cut off switch didn't trip or look for a blown fuse. The fuel cut off is usually found in the trunk.

Installed ignition on 2003 sunfire, how do i reset security system

did you reuse the same pass lock sensor and key lock tumbler? if so the security system shouldn't have to be reset. if you replaced either lock cylinder or pass lock sensor then you have to turn the key to the start position and then to the run position and leave the key on for about ten minutes and wait for the security light to stop flashing. once the light stops flashing do the same process again. it may take up to three times to get the key code encrypted into the BCM. on the third time after the light stops flashing the car should start, if not then you may have another problem.

03 sunfire dash lights turn on and you drive for a bit and turn off what could that be

An intermittent connection in the dash light circuits. That could be anywhere in the circuit...switch, broken wire, loose connector, etc.
