The Pontiac sunfire does not have a in cabin filter.I have had a 1995 to 2005 Sunfire.

Good luck and hope this helps, if you do use Synthetic transmission oil, make sure it's a Low Viscosity Synthetic Transmission oil. High viscosity transmission oil will cause the gear shifting to stick and will cause shifting issues.

Headlamps The headlamps are operated when the driver places the headlamp switch in the HEADLAMP position. The LT HDLP and RT HDLP fuse in the IP fuse block, supply battery positive voltage to both the left and right headlamps. The low beam and high beam circuits continue to the headlamp switch. Depending on the position of the dimmer switch, either the low or high beam circuit will now have a path to ground. Ground is provided at G204. The low beam and high beam circuits also provide the body control module (BCM) with both low and high beam inputs. The headlamp switch includes the dimmer and the flash-to-pass switch. If the headlight switch is left in the HEADLAMP position, the headlights will remain on until turned off or the battery runs dead. Daytime Running Lamps (DRL) Any function that turns on the headlights will cancel the daytime running lamps operation. The LT HDLP fuse in the IP fuse block supplies battery positive voltage to the daytime running lamp (DRL) relay coil circuit. The DRL relay switch contacts are connected to the low beam circuit. When the headlamp switch is placed in the OFF position, the BCM will turn on the daytime running lamps. The BCM energizes the DRL relay, closing the switch contacts and grounding the low beam circuit at G204. The DRL illuminate the low beam headlights at a reduced intensity. The DRL will operate when the ignition switch is in the RUN position, the gear selector is not in the PARK position and the parking brake is released. When these conditions have been met the DRL will illuminate. DRL operation in Manual Transmission equipped vehicles will occur when the ignition switch is in the RUN position, and the parking brake is released. Probably the dimmer switch . But without testing that would be just a guess . Turnning the headlamps on Any function that turns on the headlights will cancel the daytime running lamps operation.. No ,don't think the DRL relay has anything to do with it . View wiring diagrams an testing the electrical circuits at the dimmer switch would be the proper way to diagnose .

When adjusting the moon roof did you see any switches ? sunroof limit switch Measure the reference voltage of the sunroof limit switch soft stop signal circuit at the sunroof control harness connector to a good ground. Does the reference voltage measure near the specified value? 4.5-5.5 V Notice: Do not open the sunroof glass past the full open soft stop position. Doing so may damage the sunroof assembly and or the roof top. Connect a jumper wire to the sunroof limit switch soft stop signal circuit at the sunroof control module harness to a good ground. Turn ON the ignition, with the engine OFF. Using the sunroof switch, operate the sunroof system, not to exceed the full open soft stop position. Does the system operate as requested? The sunroof control module monitors both sunroof switch input requests and based on the sunroof limit switch input combinations, will control an output to the sunroof motor, to drive the sunroof glass to the requested position. The sunroof control module is equipped with a timer circuit which stops the operation of the sunroof motor after 8 seconds.

this may sound a little funny, but hands on experience is the best. go to a junk yard and experiment as to how to get it apart. Manuals do not always give you the little details you need to know. I have done this some times and it works out great when it comes to working on my own. You may also fine a good cluster that works at a good price.

I'd make sure you have fluid in your radiator. Does you AC blow cold? If it doesn't there is a chance you are low or out of fluid. This would lead to a crack in the radiator. Is it a crank shaft driven fan of electric?

On a 2002 Sunfire, the fuel vapor canister purge solenoid (AKA canister vent solenoid) is between the engine and the firewall, up high near the hood. It's a black box with two hose or fuel vapor line ports going toward the passenger side and one toward the driver side. One of the passenger side hoses goes to the vapor canister.

The DRL module may be defective.

The problem could be a power supply module that supplies various voltages to the instrument panel (IPC). If it is acting up, it can make this buzzing noise. If that is it, it will eventually fail and the IPC gauges will stop working.
