I received this error code (51, injector circuit) on my 1994 Nissan SE V6 pickup. It runs very rough (it seems to be missing on at least one cylinder).
Does this refer to the electrical circuit that feeds the injectors or the injector itself?
I would start by checking the resistance of all of the injectors. I saw this happen last week, I had a new injector that was reading low ohms and it was making two cylinders misfire. Replace the new one with a another new one and both cylinder ran good. I dont know what the ohm value of your injectors should be but I would want at least 10 ohms, All of them will be about the same except the bad one..I did a web search on your problem and it was covered at several places.

I'm having the intermittent starting problem with my truck. I have replaced the battery and ignition switch with out any results. I purchased the larger of the two starter relays as advised but I can't locate where it's at. The parts guy at the nissan dealer told me it was under the hood on the right side but I don't see where its at. Please help.

On a zero day this winter the truck started making a horrible noise and running rough. It also appears to have water in the oil. I took the valve cover off and found the noise to be coming from the timing chain tensioner flopping around apparently broken. Is it possible that this has punched a hole in the water pump housing or somewhere else? I have been running too heavy an oil in it which may be what caused it to break. The truck has 103,000 miles. Thanks for your help. Dave in Shawnee, KS
I would venture to guess that a timing chain guide broke and the chain chewed a hole thought the timing cover. The timing cover also has coolant passing through it where the water pump is attached. If you were running a multi viscosity oil, even it it were a 20-40 and got surprised by a zero degree day, I doubt seriously, it would cause that to occur. That series engine had problem s with timing chain guide failures. However, there usually is some chain rattle well before a disastrous failure. Most of my customers noticed the chain noise before it has caused catastrophic damage.
Sorry you have suffered such a loss. Good luck on your repair. A used timing cover would be the cheapest route. A place in Dallas called Bishops, buys engine cores, dismantles them, evaluates them, cleans the good parts up and sells them at very reasonable prices. They ship all over the country.

Fuel Gauge goes to empty when tank is full
When I fill up my gas tank, the fuel gauge is pegged all the way left past the Empty indicator. It appears as of the gauge is not working.
As I start driving, the gauge needle starts to move to the right. When the tank is between 1/2 and 3/4 capacity, the needle will move to the correct position and start to accurately display the gas tank fuel capacity.
When I refill the gas tank to full, the above cycle repeats itself.
So the fuel gauge is accurate between empty and about 2/3 capacity, but inaccurate between 2/3 and topped off full.
The problem began 3 years ago after I moved from California to Georgia. The truck was transported on one of those open auto carrier trucks that drove from California to Georgia over a 6 period.
Since it occurred between Jan 29 and Feb 5, he probably drove through snow and rain.
When the auto carrier truck dropped off my truck, I started up the truck and saw an empty fuel gauge and thought the tank was empty, but it was topped off full.
I later figured out that it was the fuel gauge.
Any thoughts?
change the sensor on the fuel tank

The brake lights on my 94 nissan pickup won't turn off. Do I need to replace the brake light switch? If not what could be the source of the problem and/or what do I need to do to fix the problem?
This problem is caused by a defective brake light switch, the switch is either out of adjustment (it is a threaded adjustment) or is defective, it is located under the dash and at the top of the arm the brake pedal is attached to. There will most likely be a plastic panel under the dash you will need to remove to see the switch. Here is a picture of the brake light switch.

1994 nissan pickup a/c will not come on when i push the button, wont light up.Blower works fine, if i bypass the relay a/c works and it has enough freon. the relay is also good, could it be the a/c switch?
Yes the AC compressor swich could be bad, you could check switch continuity possible bad contacts. Also check to make shore you have proper DC voltage supplying switch, should be 12 volt DC.

Turn key, can hear the relay click and a short buzzing sound and then-nothing. Radio works, lights work, bell rings, but starter does not turn. Starter has been replaced and was fine for a while. Now, it is doing it again. It is most prevalent when the vehicle is cold. Now it wont crank at all. Just replaced the relay and still just clicks and buzzes. ???
Clean the battery post's and terminals and hot wires to starter and the ends of the ground wires. Try to jump start it if it starts it may be your battery or your starter is going bad.

While driving at 70 the truck starting slowing down to about 35 going up hill. it takes a very long time to get up to any speed. no matter how much accelerator you give it does not respond. idles fine. Replaced fuel filter and catalytic converter.
Check the cable that connects the Gas pedal to the throttle plate in the intake manifold. Cable could be streched or breaking and not opening the throttle plate all the way.. another easy thing to look at is just past your air filter is the Mass Air meter.. open it up (take the large hose off) and clean it. there is special cleaner for this job.. its a spray available in any auto parts store. You replaced the CAT.. is there any other possible blockage in the exhust system.. this is a classic symptom of a blocked exhaust. To check this you would unbolt the front part of the cat and run with a open exhauset just to see if it corrects problem. Very loud but a last ditch choice. Check air filter?? I have seen rats nests in airfilters in the winter.. this usually causes the engine to smoke from too rich mixturee.. but the fuel inj systems are so smart now they might adapt to a blocked air filter and reduce the amount of fuel.= going slow.
