1994 Nissan Pickup - Page 8 - Answered Questions & Fixed issues
I am thinking about buying a 1994 nissan pickup 4
you might want to keep an eye on the oil pressure 30 to40 lbs is ok at idle but i like to see 60 or more the problem with antifreeze in the crank case is it will wipe the babit from the barrings if
it has gone that far. meaning did he run the truck with the antifreeze in the crank case and if so
its not a really good idea. ive seen worse. just keep an eye on the pressure that will tell the hole story other than that you shooed have no problems at all
hope this helps you good luck bob
by the way babit is a thin layer that's put on the barring because it is very slippery with oil

Hello and welcome to FixYa!
As a first course of action, I strongly suggest that you check the spark plugs. If the plugs have big gap, corroded, covered with carbon or faulty the vehicle tends to loose power because of fuel flooding.
It may result to stalling or backfires too. If necessary please do replace the spark plugs for better fuel burning.
Hope this helps and thank you for using FixYa! Have a good one!

I'm having trouble keeping fuel in the tank. I
I had the same thing happen recently with my 94 Nissan pick up. The gas tank was fine, but the unit that goes into the top of the gas tank was worn out and leaking. Cost to replace with a used unit was $400 (inlcuded labor). Removing the bed makes it easier to replace, that's what the shop told me... good luck!

Hi
An engine will flood if there's too much fuel going in because of a stuck choke, a bad spark not igniting the fuel, failed temperature sensors, bad fuel regulator and timing and etc.
Code 13 indicates problem in Engine Coolant Temperature Sensor Circuit.
Code 41 indicates problem in Air Temperature Sensor Circuit.
Also check the bellow link:-

Allowing a vehicle to set can cause several problems. The most obvious would be that the fuel system collects varnish deposits as the fuel ages. Some injector cleaner additive for the fuel tank and a fresh tank full of gas may work wonders for your fuel mileage. The fuel pump making noise after the engine is switched off??? Are you sure it's the fuel pump? I guess it could be that the fuel pump has collected some varnish on its impeller or if your vehicle is equipped with a surge valve/device inside the fuel tank, the rubber diaphragm inside the surge valve may be ruptured and causing the weird sound. This will not normally affect engine operation. The surge valve is mostly for absorbing vibrations in the fuel lines to reduce noise from the fuel pump. They can cause problems however, if they are the design that can leak fuel internally back into the tank if the diaphragm ruptures. (Some can do this, and some can't - the main symptom will be low fuel pressure) Also, keep a close watch for oil leaks and coolant leaks. Vehicles that are not operated for long periods of time often experience leakage problems when put back into service. This is due to the rubber parts like seals, O-rings, and hoses that harden and crack from lack of use.

How do you reset the check engine light?
Easiest way is to pull the negative (black) battery cable for a few minutes and then reconnect it.
You should probably take it to an AUto Zone or similar parts store that will check to see why its on, and they can reset it for you at the same time. Depending on the issue, it may just come back on in a few minutes, and it may take a few days or never come back on.
