2002 Chevrolet TrailBlazer - Page 4 Questions & Answers
My 2002 Trailblazer is stalling out (not dieing
Well the radio must come out and sent out for repair, nothing you can do to fix this. As far as the other problem goes I suggest you clean the throttle valve and the idle speed control air bypass valve with throttle valve cleaner.
02 trailblazer ac issue
Hi, the function of keeping the idle is performed by the idle air control valve. The valve may be stuck or the air passage clogged. This is not related to replacing the battery. Use a voltmeter to probe the back of the connector. Then start the engine and watch the meter as you turn on the a/c. You should see a blip in voltage as the computer tries to open the valve. If no blip, suspect you have a wiring issue. If there is a blip, remove the valve and check the air passages for blockage. If you see blockage, clean with carb cleaner. If no blockage, install a new valve.
Tranmission doesn't shift properly, high rpms and whining noise
The transmission fluid filter is the problem. This service should have been done at 80,000 miles. A dirty filter will cause the charge pump whine and loss of charge pump pressure will cause clutch packs to slip. Do not perform this service yourself, Its messy and not for novices. Do not drive or damage to clutch pack friction plates will occur.
I have a 1996 chevy
Sounds like the accessory circuit in you ignition switch is going bad. The switch is located down on your steering column and is available at most auto parts stores. Just do a lookup for a video on doing the work.
Reason I say ignition switch is that the problem occurs with bumps. The keys will move slightly, moving the arm that moves the switch. Using less weight on the keys also helps avoid this. Just try the truck with the key off the ring
Cooling fans will not work
No need to replace the compressor. That will solve nothing. The electrical wire connection to the compressor clutch can be replaced.
How to change thermostat 2002chev trailblazer 4cylnder
Ivan, Trailblazer only came with the 6 or 8 cylinders. You probably have the I6 engine. I have found that removing the battery AND battery tray makes this job really easy. Must remove alternator and alternator bracket. Pretty forward from there, make sure you replace your temperature sensor also while you're in there, it's right above the thermostat.
2002 chevy trailblazer and it will not crank or start and the key has gotten stuck in the ignition. I also got a jumpstart and it still didn't start. What is wrong, Please?
Could be a number of thing's , can you do automotive electrical testing ? Do you know if starting is PCM / ECM controlled or BCM controlled ? Do you know what these are ? BCM - body control module , PCM/ECM - engine computer !
Moving the ignition switch to the START position sends a 12-volt signal to the engine control module (ECM)/powertrain control module (PCM) Crank Request circuit. The ECM/PCM verifies that the transmission is in the PARK or NEUTRAL position. With the transmission in Park, voltage flows through the Park/Neutral position switch and feeds the starter relay coil. The PCM then grounds the control circuit of the starter relay. When the starter relay is energized it allows battery positive voltage to the starter solenoid S terminal. On some vehicles the starter will continue to crank the engine with the key released until it starts or the crank command has timed out to prevent excessive heat build up in the starter circuitry or the ECM/PCM receives an engine run flag.
Circuit Description (BCM Controlled)
Moving the ignition to the START position signals the body control module (BCM) that engine crank has been requested. The BCM verifies that theft is not active and sends a serial data message to the powertrain control module (PCM) requesting engine start. The BCM also energizes the RUN/CRANK RELAY. When the RUN/CRANK RELAY switch side closes, and the vehicle is in Park or Neutral or with the clutch is fully depressed, if equipped, supplies voltage to the starter relay coil. The PCM verifies the transmission is in Park or Neutral and the clutch is fully depressed, if equipped. The PCM will then ground the control circuit of the starter relay, closing the switch supplying voltage to the starter solenoid. On some vehicles the starter will continue to crank the engine with the key released until it starts of the crank command has timed out to prevent excessive heat build up in the starter circuitry or the PCM receives an engine run flag.
Do you know what a park neutral safety switch is ? What do you mean key stuck in ignition ? Can't turn the key to off position , or you can an the key will not come out ?
Your best bet , take it to a qualified repair shop .
