Marker lights not working; checked
Get an electrical tester to see if the line has power at the base of the light socket. Marker lights get a lot of dirt in them so the socket or the base of the bulb may need to be cleaned and place some type of silicone grease to avoid corrosion.

I have a slow coolant
Hi, there are 2 common locations for a coolant leak on a vortec engine. The water pump, and the intake gasket. A coolant pressure test may show the leak better. There is a weep hole , or a vent hole, at the bottom of the water pump. This should be checked, as well as the edgesnof the intake, and the front and rear of the intake. Chances are you will find the problem in these areas. Good luck...Coop

not sure here as europeon mechanic with no pratical but i would check for a valve on the fuel delivery pipe and this valve will have a vacumn type chamber on it and a vacumn pipe ,On this age vehicle its not uncommon for this valve to fail and will stop the fuel pressure in the feed so it will not fire up .This valve is to stop the fuel from leaking past a injector if the ignition is left on for any reason so check the vacumn pipe for leaks first that control this valve as this is the most common cause of non start .

There is most likely too much play in the shifter linkage. Block the wheels on the truck and crawl under and watch the linkage as someone moves it back and forth from park to low. There is probably a lot of play in it and you will have to get that out. I'm not as familiar with that body style as I am with the pre 88 but it is similar. There should be a threaded part on it to make adjustments. Only turn it a couple of turns and then check it. If this won't fix it then you will probably have to get inventive and make some bushings and spacers. Seems to me that the last time I went to the dealer looking to fix sloppy linkage, my wallet got scared. I used copper pipe to make bushings and washers to take the side play out of joints. Hope this helps.

Dash lights may be replaced depending on the dash cluster. Most these days are (sealed) and require a (new) cluster. The only way to know for sure is by contacting a dealer. Removing the cluster is not an easy task, by the way. Hope this helps.

- Turn the ignition on.
- Turn the radio off.
- Depress and hold Pre-set buttons 2 and 3.
- Write down the first three digits that appear on the radio display.
- Depress AM/FM, write down the second three digits that appear on the radio display.
Did you receive the 6 digit Radio Display Code?

Contact Delco Assistance to obtain a "Radio Back-up Code".

- Use the hours and minutes buttons on the radio and install the 4 digit "Radio Back-up Code".
- Depress the AM/FM button.
"SEC" should display.

Okay the motor for the 4x4 got stuck in 4LOW, Can you accsess the 4x4 motor switch,at see if that will retract the motor and default to 2 wheel drive because the switch itself went bad and wont disengage. see if that will help if not youll just have to by pass the switch and trigger to its normal position make sure its in neutral also
