I have changed Spark Plugs,Wires ,Coil Packs, and removed Fuel Injectors and soaked overnight. Engine code is a P0304. Misfire Cylinder #4. Most of the time around town is alright. When i put it on highway, it will surge like its cutting off and then pick right back up and be fine. Fuel Presure is 55 psi. Fuel Pressure Regulator is good. I do have faulty gas gauge but I replace fuel pump about 2 years ago. Sometimes when sitting at stop light you can feel motor lope a little and RPM's fall to about 300. I am running out of ideas. I swapped fuel injector on 4 cyclinder thinking the misfire might follow injector for trouble shooting. So far no codes.....
i have a 2001 chevy z-71 5.3L. I keep getting a random/multiple misfire code for cylinder 1 . I have replaced plugs, wires, coil pack(only on #1 cylinder)., and fuel pump. I still keep getting the cylinder 1 misfire code. I put truck on a scanner and watched the cylinders. # 1 misfires at idle but quickly stops misfiring at around 1000 rpms. you can here the engine miss at idle but truck runs great on road . anyone else ever had this problem?

I have no heat in my truck. Blows plenty of air but no hot air. I have changed the thermostat but this did not help. I cannot locate any valve on the heater lines going into the cab. Any ideas?
flush the heater out with a hose. the fastest and cheapest. if that dosen't work then replace the Air blend actuator motor. $59.99 at Auto Zone part # 604-101

can not lower spare tire
intl190 is the man! This solution solved my problem. I followed his instructions and used a super long screwdriver to push the j-hook in. My latch on a 2003 Tahoe works fine now after a thorough cleaning. I agree that regular cleaning will keep it functional. Thanks again, intl190...you save me at least a couple hundred dollars that the tire store wanted to replace the latch, etc (which is a special order item).

I have a 1999 chevy silverado and the security light comes on and stays on. After awhile, the light begins to flassh and the truck will not start till I reset the security system. how do I fix this?
you need to turn ignition on and leave key in on position for ten minutes then turn key off then back on again for another ten minutes then one more time for a total of three times or 30 minutes and the system should relearn the key. System is called passlock. I can email you the procedure form alldata if you want.

Upon reaching a speed of 25 mph I hear a humming/growling noise from the drivers side front end of my 1999 Silverado 4 X 4. Noise gets louder with increased speed. Replacement of the front axle hub did not help. Fluid level is OK in front differential.
I'm having the same problem with my 2006 Chevy 2500 duramax...The humming starts at 25mph and then gets less prominent and then at 50mph it gets more prominent and louder, then at 60mph you can hardly hear it.....I did notice a little bit of leakage where the front axel meets the from diff on the drivers side.
Any suggestions?

At the back of the truck I have white, blue, and orange wire. Can you tell me which one goes to AUX, Brake control?
Also does chevy sell a wiring harness to plug in to the truck so I can wire up the brake controller?
Here is some information that I find useful when wiring trailer connectors, and the brake controller should be wired into the vehicles wiring according to the instructions that came with the brake controller and that identifies each wire from the brake controller.
Be sure that you solder all connections well for the best operation, and you should use 10 or 12 ga. wire for the Pos. (+) connection, and the ground or Neg. (-) connection, and you should run both wires all the way out to the battery, and about one foot from the battery on the Pos. (+) wire to the battery, make sure that you use a 20 or 30 amp Circuit Breaker and Do Not Use A Fuse.
The rest of these diagrams should help you to get your trailer properly wired up.
