How do you take a 1991 nissan pathfinder out of 4wd?
By now you have either learnt to drive this vehicle or consigned it to the wreckers.....
Read your manual, or get one, or get a friend who knows the vehicle to explain how to do this.
You can slip from 4wd high into 2 WD without stopping, and back again at up to 50mph, but only on slippery surfaces, otherwise you risk damage to the transfer box.
from 4 high to 4 low, go as slow as possible or stop completely.
If you need to use 4 low, the more time you sit still and think about what's ahead, the better.........in fact you should already be in 4 low before you have to ponder life, the universe and everything...
do not exceed 30 mph in 4 low.......and that is where you are now.....Push the transfer box gear lever downwards into the gearbox, push the lever forward to 4 high, now forward again to 2 WD.
don't forget to unlock the front hubs..if they say auto hubs on the outside, just drive backwards a couple of yards in reverse in 2 WD. If they are manual fakers you will have to get out of the vehicles and rotate the arrow in the middle of the front hubs so it lines up with 4 x 2.......
join a 4wd club and learn the right way to do this before you wreck the vehicle, someone else's vehicle, or a life ........
