• Hi, I can help. Please see the diagrams I uploaded for your firing order. You did not list weather you have fuel injection, turbo or carburetor so I will list all 3 possibilities for you.

• This is the firing order for a carbureted.

• This firing order is for a fuel injected turbo engine.

• This firing order is for fuel injection with out turbo.

Did you replace the O-ring on the cable where it enters the transmission?

Have you checked the injector circuits with a test light to see if you have voltage and a pulse ground from the computer ?Can you spray carb cleaner into the intake to make it try to start ?

Are you check fuel pump pressure?

I would check for voltage and ground at the door switch.

it should be in fuel line going to carburator unscrew the fuel line and look inside where line screws to carb

If the bulb are good the next place to look is to check the fuses, if your turn signals work the fuse will be good. The fuse for the back-up lights is the same one for the turn signal..

After that there are two areas to check.

First, check for power and ground at the bulb sockets if ground is good and no power go to next step. If no ground repair the ground circuit ( See diagram below).

Second,check for power to the gear selector switch. Check for power with the key on and engine off going into the switch on the dark blue wire (See diagram below) if no power repair that circuit. If there is power there, then with the key on and engine off put the gear selector in reverse and check for power at the light green wire if there is power there the switch is good if no power replace the switch. If you do have power at the light green wire coming out of the switch repair the light green circuit from there to the taillights.

What the Neutral Safety Switch does is prevent the car from starting unless you have your vehicle in neutral or park. this is a safety feature.

If you even need a shim,you have to determine that
when your installing it

If you removed the old starter and there were no shims then this will stand true with the new one and if there were shims you should either reuse those or get ones like it what will happen if you dont have shims in the starter is the flywheel will most likely not allow the starter to engage fully and you car will not start the shims are to keep this from happening.

The schematic for the smog and vacuum lines is on a sticker under the hood. Best to take the car to a smog station and have the mechanic set everything up. Your car should run better and pollute less.
