if the coil is known to be good check in the distributor cap whether power is getting there. if it is there must be something wrong with the spark leads.
Essentially you must work backwards from the spark plug tips towards the battery until you find where the transmission of power breaks down. So check for a spark at the plug tips.
if no power check the centre of the distributor cap, and if no power check the coil. at some point you will find power, the problem then, must be between the place you find power and the next step that should go but does not
Good Luck
There should be a retainer ring that clips onto the distributor cap to help hold the spark plug wires into place. In reality, that retainer ring MAY be missing as it can be sort of a pain to remove/replace the ignition wires when it is used.
IF it still has the ring it, along with the spark plug wires, will need to be removed to get the coil cover off the distributor cap.
After the spark plug wires are removed there should be a couple of small screws holding the coil cover in place.
Remove the small screws to expose the coil.
Here's a link to a video to kind of give you an idea as to how the coil fits into the top of the distributor cap. The first 1:25 of the video shows removal and skipping to 3:02 of the video shows it going back in.

Hope this helps.
Though some voltage is required to make the alternator operate, aside from that, the alternator needs to be in good condition to work. Therefore, putting a new battery in the car won't make a bad alternator operate. Check the wiring going to the alternator and if it is in good condition and the drive belt is tight, have the alternator checked...many larger parts stores will do that for you free.
the fuse box is located lower dash drivers side ,cover/lid usually has list inside to the fuse locations etc, does the four way switch turn the signal lights on ? if so the fuse for the turn signals is probably the issue , if the four ways don't come on it may be the flaher relay which may be in the interior fuse box but if not the fuse box in the engine compartment is the next place to look, hope this helps
This takes a special scanner called an OBD1 scan tool, so the free tests can't be done, they are for OBD2. The diagnostic port in under the dash. You can do a manual test with a paper clip shorting bar and watching the check engine light flash out the code. Just google that.
you possibly have a heater core leak....is the pass. floor mat wet or damp....most times when a heater core is leaking, you can actually taste it in the air....it's actually sweet.
have it fixed, or bypass the core itself if it gets really bad.
Check the connection at the tank to see if it is connected. Then take a test light and ground the test light to a good ground. With the key on,probe the wire going into the tank, there is more than one so the one you probe will have a dim light, and when this happens, the gauge will fall to empty. This will happen if the sending unit is bad in the tank,
best bang for your buck 350 cid with a turbo 350 or 700r4 ... the 350 engine can be stroked out to 383 using the internals:pistons and crank from a 400 in big block... but just stroking a 350 on a hot tranny with low gears to drive those big wheels is important get a 4;11 low gear ratio you ll be able to drag that monster.
